We thoroughly enjoyed two nights of meals at this cozy little bar restaurant. As newcomers to Westport, we wanted a place to experience some traditional Irish food. Even though we didn’t have a reservation, we were ushered in and took seats at the bar where we waited and visited with some locals. We ended up staying at the bar to eat and we’re provided very good service. I had one of the best burgers I’ve ever tasted at this lovely little place. The next night was not nearly as busy and we immediately were seated at a table. Wait staff was prompt and the food was fresh and well prepared.
That was a great experience. We had the idea for a pint of beer and a cider but stayed for dinner. A nice service was the tasting of two ciders before choosing one of them. The menu was promising, so we ordered mussels, fries and wedges. The food was great. The service was friendly and fast. The beer was, well beer. The restaurant was pretty full for a Thursday evening, many locals, that's always a recommendation.

We booked the west for communion celebration dinner and very happy we did. Everything from the set menu, service and value were second to none. We were a large group of 23 adults and 8 kids. Everyone was pleased with their meal. Food was served seamlessly by great staff. The function room upstairs is a great space. We were allowed to decorate the evening before and nothing was too much trouble for Martin and his staff. The West surpassed itself today. If you have any celebration coming up I highly recommend the west you will not be disappointed

beautiful and characteristic place, warm and welcoming, friendly staff, excellent menu with dishes for all tastes, average prices.
We were in Westport for 3 nights. We sat in the same 2 barstools at some point all 3 nights.
Services was outstanding. Matthew the bartender was very attentive and personable. Highly recommend if you are looking for a terrific meal or just a lite bar bite and drink.

We were looking for a pub where we could eat a little late, after 8am, with good value for money. So we came across The West where we ate very well, quiet but with a huge pop rock playlist. The staff is very pleasant, the service fast. It would be worth coming back on a Friday or Saturday to see the big Irish atmosphere. Recommendable and recommended.
