Nice stop for lunch. Vegetable soup was delicious. My husband enjoyed the seafood chowder. Charming interior.

I have never had a bad meal here before. And the service was always fast and good and attentive. Unfortunately the last time we visited with guests they were so busy that they simply forgotten about our table, and after asking for the main course twice we were still not served. At the same time the tables around us all had their main meal, although they arrived later than us. At the end we had to leave, after cancelling our main meal, so one of the member of our party had no food whatsoever. After praising the restaurant to our guests it was very hard to explain this unfortunate incident. No apologies were given just an 'oh we are busy'. The starters were great, though.

Popular, go-to spot for far and wide. Great decor and atmosphere inside, and attractive outdoor eating in better weather. Suitable for breakfast through to dinner with a quality menu.

I used to go here regularly for decades then it changed for the worse and I hadn't stepped foot inside in 10 years because I wasn't impressed with anything about it, but today I decided to go in, And I have to say everything was perfect just like the old days, the food was 10/10 I had the full Irish and the wife had a half one, the full came with a big pot of coffee which is absolutely brilliant and there was 2 little pots of jam there without having to ask and all for €15 for the full , now that is great value for money, I am putting this place back on my favorite spots to eat, I was there on a Monday morning very quiet, you'll have trouble trying to get in on a weekend because it's usually jammed out the doors, plenty of parking very clean and there's plenty of yokes hanging around the walls and ceiling to keep you busy while you're waiting on your food, Very very impressed 👍

I have been to the Heather restaurant at least 10 times. The location is great, the restaurant and bar are beautiful, very cosy and warm. The staff is very helpful and nice. They have a gorgeous outdoor space where you can eat and drink so I would recommend this place. Food wise it depends on what you eat. I had the salad bowl as a main, very bland. I had the burger years ago, it's ok, nothing crazy. My child had chicken goujons recently and they were lovely and fresh. The carvery sandwich is nice and filling but could do with a bit of green on the side (salad leaves), it is a bit bare. Overall, lovely place to come to enjoy a nice pint of Guinness and some food after visiting Glendalough and its beautiful region.
