The Woodford in Cork

Really enjoyed here, nice vibe to the place. We stopped in here for dinner and a few beers. Fish and chips was delicious, lovely light batter. Also had the steak, it was perfect although with a €4 surcharge it was quite small. Servers were very friendly and easy going. Would definitely return again.

As usual, evening came unexpectedly. I decided to have dinner at an Irish restaurant-pub in Cork. There were no problems with the quality of the food. The establishment was densely packed, with beautiful wooden panels on the walls, as I like, and leather chairs. Many people and everyone was not just drinking beer, like the Czechs, but eating, drinking cognac, wine, chatting. It was very interesting to watch everyone. Right in front of me was a "loving" couple in their 70s. They were very active in communicating and drinking 2 bottles of wine for two. I ordered a completely European dinner and non-alcoholic beer. It was tasty and filling. The staff was very friendly. I liked everything, I highly recommend it as a place for dinner and for a romantic evening. Then the road to the hotel awaited me. The place was packed, with beautiful wooden paneling on the walls, just the way I like it, and leather armchairs. There were a lot of people, and they weren't just drinking beer like in Czech pubs; they were eating, drinking cognac and wine, and chatting. It was very interesting to watch everyone. Right in front of me sat a "loving" couple in their late 60s. We talked very actively and drank 2 bottles of wine between the two of us. I ordered a quite European dinner and non-alcoholic beer. It was delicious and filling. The staff was very friendly. Everything was great, I highly recommend it as a place for both dinner and a romantic evening. Then I had a walk to the hotel.

We went for lunch and really enjoyed it. The best: the roast beef ciabatta. Finger-licking good. The place is very cool, with a great atmosphere. Maybe it was during the week, but there weren't many people, so we sat at a table with sofas without any problem. We were served by a very nice Spanish waiter who made great recommendations, and a super-friendly brunette waitress :) They have live music some days.

Very warm welcome. Music until 9 p.m. Efficient and friendly service. Good food and good beer. The place is nice.

Great food, nice pints, good staff

In my opinion, this is the best place in Cork! The food is wonderful, the staff are legends, and the atmosphere is perfect. Highly recommend to anyone, local or visitor.

Fish and chips, Guinness stew, tacos, and linguine were all excellent. Bathrooms are up stairs, not handicapped accessible. Definitely a go to place.

Comimos en Woodford y disfrutamos de la comida. Era ya tarde para comer y aún así nos atendieron y dieron soluciones. Todo estaba riquísimo (seafood chowder, Beef Stew and Soup with bread) al igual que los postres. El lugar muy agradable y con encanto. Y ofrecen música en vivo por la noche varios días a la semana. Volveremos para disfrutar de esos momentos. Y todo eso con un servicio muy amable y atento por parte de Manuel, que nos aconsejó de maravilla y nos resolvió todas las dudas. Para repetir. Enhorabuena.
