A beautiful castle surrounded by a fabulous setting. A great place for a family trip. There's a playground for children, a carousel, and plenty of space to stroll. Of course, this attraction isn't just for families. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys old castles and open-air museums (because a few meters from the castle there's something like a village to explore). You don't have to go to the castle, it's not mandatory; you can spend time walking around the area, or rather, exploring this village.
But let's get back to the castle. There are a few—what should I call them? The stairs are simply very winding, narrow, and very steep up and down. Which is an interesting experience :))
Overall, I like everything about it. The parking is free and ample.
Buy souvenirs.
Take a walk in the fresh air.
I also recommend this place during the Christmas season. Beautiful lights, a colorful holiday atmosphere, and you can even meet Santa Claus. Everything is absolutely YES 👍
A good day out the castle is interesting and the folk park is lovely with lots of “residents” to interact with

To be honest, I wasn't thrilled. The castle is spectacular from the outside, but not particularly captivating inside. It's very popular with tourists, and the rooms are small, so they quickly become crowded, especially the narrow spiral staircases. Many rooms aren't open to visitors, but can only be observed from behind a rope, precisely because they're so small. The park is very large, particularly suitable for children. There are reconstructions of homes from various social classes, the inevitable souvenir shops, and enclosures with animals (goats, sheep, a donkey, a deer, etc.). The prettiest part is the garden, directly opposite the castle. To see this site at leisure, you'll need a whole morning. I found it too "fake."

Best castle in the country… if you like medieval castles.
We stopped at this castle on the way to Limerick and it was a great choice, at least for a 2-3 hour stop. We went in because we thought it was a good stop for kids. You can visit the castle inside and see what the surrounding area was like, including the blacksmith's shop in the 19th century. There are swings for children if they want to play, and you can eat the typical salads, hot dogs, and hamburgers there. It's a spacious and peaceful space, and there are animals too. Very well-equipped.

We took a guided tour.
The castle is small, but it represents the way of life of its inhabitants.
The exterior is a kind of park with houses that depict the lives and professions of farmers, blacksmiths, and fishermen.
Entertaining and interesting.
