Trattoria Magnetti in Galway

We accidentally discovered this place while staying in Galway. What a treat! Seriously one of my favorite meals in Ireland. Could not be more pleased with the flavors in my Strozzapreti con Salsiccia. My Dad had a pizza, the crust was incredible. We also tried the classic Bruschetta; super good! Lovely Red wines by the glass. I highly recommend this place. It did get really busy later in the evening.

Highly overrated - food and service are decent and Italian enough, however below 4 stars. It is however a very welcome change (and upgrade) to the “Irish food” in all other places. Had pastas which are home made!

Me - "How big is the Calzone" Waitress - "How Big? Its massive, like the size of a new born baby, I'm like, congratulations, its a Calzone"

The one thing I didn't like was that the shrimp in the dishes was not peeled. It made it difficult to eat without making a mess getting the shell of after its covered in sauce. Otherwise, the food was good.

I love going to this Italian restaurant to order a pizza or pasta dish with a bottle of white wine. The food is delicious, the waiters are wonderful and the dessert counter is something to see. They all look incredible.

I had a lovely strozzapreti with very juicy meat. My boyfriend had ravioli di carne al marsala and he claims it’s the best he ever had! We had to wait for quite a while BUT it was so worth it. Servers were very attentive and place is clean and cozy. Definitely one of the best Italian places in I have tried. I was shocked this wasn’t number 1 on Google reviews for Galway…it should be!

Stopped in just past the lunch rush and we were happy to be seated. We ordered, and when we informed the server we’d need to leave in about 30 minutes they were able to accommodate our rush order with no issue. The pizza crust was just the right amount of crispy and chewy, and the portion of prawns and mussels was significant!
