White Oak Restaurant in Kilkenny

We are just back from a 2 night stay, rooms are lovely food is gorgeous but the staff made the stay they were so helpful the owner is lovely man made us feel very welcoming an big shout out to Declan the best bar man an all the bar staff yous are great, definitely be back thanks so much 😃

We had dinner today Jan 26th, with family. While our mains etc were good what stood out was a dessert of jelly and ice cream for our 4 year old. One of us had to get a knife to cut the big chunky pieces, which tasted rubbery, it wasn't at all suitable for a small child and its something for other parents to be aware of. Definitely not something we'd ask for again. Our service was excellent, we met a lovely lady, thank you .

Well, on arrival the receptionist was." Cool " not what to expect at a hotel...but it got better, the hotel was warm, the room comfortable, and the staff in the bar and restaurant were wonderful, the breakfast was A1, and location could not be better, but apart from the main reception....it gets a 👍 from me..

Pleasant pub food and friendly service

My wife and I went to kilford arms for a night ,what a brilliant experience rooms were spotless staff were more than friendly and the food was 5 🌟, two young lads in the restaurant were mighty craic for the banter us being from cork and all 🤣

This hotel is very special because it consists of several houses. On the left is the entrance to the hotel, while on the right is the entrance to the restaurant. Ultimately it doesn't matter because you can walk through the restaurant to the hotel. To the right of the restaurant is a very narrow entrance which leads to the spacious parking lot behind the house. From the reception you can take the elevator to the 1st floor, where the rooms are. At first it's a bit confusing to find your way through the maze of stairs, entrances and exits. But ultimately that's what makes this hotel so charming. A mixture of typically Irish, quaint, rustic, churchy and dusty. But somehow also charming and unique. No matter where you look there is always something new to discover. Be it the windowless breakfast room, the church-like sports bar or the rustic restaurant, which, by the way, cooks very well. For breakfast there is a typical Irish breakfast, freshly prepared. But also whole grain bread (not just toast), cheese, sweets and muesli. One point deducted for the beds that are partially through.

This is a great place for lunch and drinks. Friendly staff.

My son and I visited Kilkenny at short notice on the 18th October, 2024. We booked a family room at the Kilford Arms Hotel and were not disappointed. Warmly welcomed by the receptionist (Jean?), we found the rooms clean and comfortable. We were well supplied with everything we needed from coffee to shampoo. The live music session that evening was great and the breakfast surpassed our expectations. Five stars all the way. Thanks for a great stay.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Only 10 minute walk from the main centre. Had food in the bar with 2 kids. Food was lovely, and the staff were very attentive. Pints of Coors are very nice 😋 we had a family room which consisted of 2 bathrooms, 1 double bed and 4 single beds. This was great as my kids didnt have to fight over who was sleeping where 😂 only down side was our room was directly on the main street so could hear traffic and music all through the night.

Good food, good location and friendly staff
