We are there over the June BH weekend and all started very well. We were moved from a tiny table which we knew we were getting to a much larger one when that party didn't arrive, which was great. Food was lovely albeit extremely hot.
The service was not great. There was one very lovely lady who seemed to be doing the work of 10 - bringing and clearing plates, cleaning tables, taking orders. Trojan and very friendly and accommodating. The problem was that it seemed like all the rest of the staff were standing chatting than doing much helpful.
When we asked for the bill - from the great lady - we were waiting 20 minutes and had to ask twice more for it. When I could see it was finally prepared and ready, one of the other staff was walking towards me and turned around and started chatting some more to one of the others before finally ambling my way....

It's genuinely one of the best places I've been to eat. The atmosphere is cosy and genial, and the portions are well matched to the price.
The food is always well cooked, and in particular, the complimentary bread is divine. I have also rarely had such well roasted potatoes - crisp outsides, fluffy insides, the way that roast potatoes should be. Perhaps the greens that come with the main course could use a tiny bit of work.
The wine selection was good, and we were very pleased with the Italian we settled on.
The salt(I am partial to more salt than usual on my food) is also of excellent standard. A small amount is all that is required.
Dessert was delightful, and I regret not being able to sample more of them.
My only genuine complaint is that, once i had eaten my fill and perhaps a smidge more, when I wanted to pay at the end of the night, it took a little while to get sorted.

We had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The service was warm and attentive. The atmosphere charming and elegant. But most importantly the food was phenomenal! I had the best duck I have ever tasted. Everything was delicious down to the Thomas Barton wine and the cocktails. This place is an absolute gem!

Dinner for 2, Fillet Steak @ €49.50 & Cod @ €29.50, bottle of sauvignon blanc €32.50. Requested well done steak. It was almost medium-rare and arrived sliced in 2. Sent it back and it came back well done after 10 mins with fresh veg and roast potato. Meanwhile I continued with my cod which was tasty. Rhubarb crumble, €12.50, was recommended by waitress, it was average. Mentioned our disappointment about the steak to the owner while paying the bill, she apologised but offered no discount. Having paid €49.50 for the steak, you would expect it to be cooked as ordered - I was quite annoyed!
Food is very good but overpriced.

A great find, good cocktail snd wine selection, great staff, attentive but not overly. The food was perfectly prepared and delicious, the ambience is just right, up market but not pretentious. An island in a sea of pub food, we will be back.

The fish and chips were absolutely delicious perfectly crispy and fresh. The staff was also incredibly friendly and attentive, making the meal even more enjoyable. I'll definitely be back for more! Thank you guys
