Windsor Bar & Restaurant in Dundalk

Typical Irish restaurant and the dishes served also represent the culinary culture of Ireland well. I think they should think about bigger tables because, once all the dishes were served, it was difficult to move without causing damage. :)

A very Irish experience, well-made food and friendly service.

Good quantity but menu promises more than it delivers. Pricey enough too. Atmosphere very cosy with lots of room and little snugs available upstairs if you don't want the main bar. Chicken goujons that two had were a bit "funky'. Chicken stir fry was more like steamer veg and steamed chicken in a soupy broth. Not much stir frying going on. Parsnip soup I thought was tasty others thought it bland. Wasn't curry parsnip, maybe they were more used to that. Spiced chicken on bed of salad or something was really chopped roast chicken in a mayonnaise. Good quantity but not spicy or too exciting. I had fish pie it was nice, again sauce could have used some dill and more white wine or chopped anchovies to add flavour. Baileys tiramisu was a bit gelatinous with very little baileys flavour

We loved it. The place is spectacular, the food is very rich and abundant and the price is good. Totally recommended.
