Baan Thai
Dublin
07/12/2025: An experience never to be forgotten ,the best restaurant I have ever been to
29/11/2025: Although it’s a Thai restaurant, the food isn’t very authentic — it’s more of a localized, modified version, probably to suit local tastes. If you’re looking for truly authentic Thai cuisine, you might want to give this place a miss.
Anyway, I won’t be going back.

Pho Viet
Dublin
31/12/2025: I’m something of a Pho-natic, and this place does a great bowl! Super hearty and a big portion, with all the trimmings on the side. Service was great and all very reasonably priced for the city centre. Would definitely recommend! The veggie spring rolls were particularly good.
18/12/2025: Had the goi cuon and pho dat biet. Pho dat biet was flavorful just had the wrong type of noodle for pho. The sauce for the goi cuon was a bit strange, like a mix of fish sauce and peanut sauce.

Golden Elephant
Cork
03/01/2026: The food itself is fine, but the behaviour of the owner/boss was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable. She openly spoke negatively about members of her staff to other employees, criticising them behind their backs. What made this worse was hearing her place blame on staff despite an obvious lack of proper training, which ultimately reflects poor management. This behavior reflects badly on the business as a whole and is very off putting to hear as a customer. Good food doesn’t make up for poor management and disrespectful treatment of staff. I hope the owner reflects on this, as professionalism and basic respect for employees are essential.
16/12/2025: Golden Elephant in Douglas is a fantastic spot for authentic Thai food with a simple, flavourful menu.
The Tom Yum soup is outstanding and full of bold taste.
The spicy peppercorn wok fry and ginger tofu & veg stir-fry are absolutely delicious.
Udon noodles were perfectly cooked and very satisfying.
The food is worth every penny.

Camile
Dublin
23/11/2025: Food was super fresh and delicious oh my God the spice bag was so good I was in heaven!
14/11/2025: UPDATE 14 Nov 25: following response from Jenny of Camile Thai below I thought it important to update this review. The response from Jenny that rodent activity was not present in food handing areas is completely ant odds to report published online, extract below. It confirms Rodent activity was identified in food handling areas including droppings in kitchen, dry goods storage, wash up and kitchen corridor. Don’t mislead the public/customers and compound the issue by lying.
“Regulation (EC) no. 852/2004 Annex Il Chapter | (2c); Chapter IX (4)
Pest Control Procedures
There was evidence of rodent activity in food handling areas of the premises including rodent droppings found in the kitchen area, dry goods storage area, the wash up area and the back kitchen corridor.
A report from
Pest control dated 19/9/25 confirmed 'light activity' at the premises but there was no
subsequent pest control reports available.
rodents are known to carry a range of harmful food pathogens (including salmonella) which they spread via droppings, urine, saliva and on their bodies.
Nobody at the premises was trained or supervised adequately to realize that food handling should have been stopped where rodent activity was evident.
Your pest control contractor should complete visits over the coming days to eliminate the presence of rodents and provide expert guidance on required proofing. Cleaning of droppings should take place immedietely and also deep cleaning and sanitizing should also take place of the whole premises as dried urine could remain on surfaces. Evidence will be sought to ensure that all recommendations made by the pest control contractor to the food business have been complied with.”
WARNING: updated 2 weeks post original review. I got really ill shortly after getting take away from this location. Lasted a day or so. To my horror I discovered today the restaurant was recently served a closure notice for evidence of active rodent issues in kitchen, wash up area and prep, dry storage locations! Vile! 🤢🤢
Original review: Perfect place to go for lukewarm & re-heated food. I ordered in the takeaway and was surprised to get my food within 5mins… Understood why when I got home. Live around the corner so no opportunity for food to go cold on way home. Meat portions are poor also. Overall very mediocre and seriously overpriced. I have been about 4 times and it’s always been poor

Aobaba

30/12/2025: It’s always crowded and cramped, and the door is never closed, so seats near the entrance are cold and the food cools down very fast

Kopitiam
Dublin
13/12/2025: Great food and excellent service. When I got in, I let them know that I had a very limited amount of time because I was heading to a movie. They had my Mee Goreng ready in 10 minutes!
03/12/2025: Was excited to find this gem in the heart of Dublin! I wasn't able to dine in, but I picked up my order and got a brief look at the restaurant.
Let’s start with the food. I ordered some basics:
1. Nasi Lemak - The rice was fragrant without being overly coconut-y. The sambal, with big slices of cooked onion, leaned sweet, ikan bilis/peanuts and the rendang sauce paired perfectly with the dish. The fried chicken drumstick was juicy and fried to perfection!
2. Char Kuay Teow - Hmm… it lacked that essential “wok hei” (IYKYK). That said, the shrimp and squid were huge and generously served.
And the winner of the night… *drum roll…*
1. Fook Kian Chow (Hokkien Mee) - This was my first time having such authentic Hokkien Mee outside of Malaysia. I’ve tried many Malaysian restaurants in the States, and so far, all were disappointing. But THIS! They had the fried chicken skin pieces (instead of the traditional usual pork lard) on top— that works! So it’s def HALAL and pork free! The noodles were cooked perfectly in the rich, dark brown sauce, and they were very generous with the shrimp and sotong (squid).
Owner/Staff: Legit Malaysians who made me feel right at home with their language, smiles, and of course, the food.
I highly recommend this place to everyone.

Khow Thai
Galway
30/11/2025: The food here is amazing! We booked it as we were in Galway for the day and couldn’t get a table in the town centre were all busy. Glad we didn’t as I have had 100s of thai and Vietnamese meals and this was one of, if not the best I have ever had. We were a bit nervous as it is on an industrial estate but don’t be as the food is amazing. We were a party of 5 and we all raved about the dishes we had chosen. We were over from the UK visiting Irish friends and we had driven from Portlaoise and the joke is now, we will always want to go to Galway because of the quality of this food every time we visit. If you live near Galway and like Thai/Vietnamese food, don’t bother with the town centre, go here! We spent £31 per head but only one of us was drinking alcohol so €30-40 per head I would say
17/11/2025: Best food I've had in Galway. What Thai food should be. Outstanding.

Camile Thai
Dublin
21/12/2025: Cold food, the food if it was hot would have been amazing it really let's down this branch of Camile it is known for long delivery times and cold food to the extent that I usually wouldn't order delivery. The delivery was fast but the food was still cold. I needed to microwave the food before I could eat it. Please fix this issue as Camile food is the only takeaway where you really taste the fresh ingredients and expertly cooked food
16/12/2025: Gone a few times. Most recently today. Lunch box full of rice small amount of chicken/veg and no sauce. Don't waste your money

02/12/2025: The food was absolutely perfect! We ordered duck spring rolls to start which were light and crispy! My curry was so flavorful and the prawns were a good size. The Katsu curry also got high ratings from my boyfriend, with its perfectly cooked chicken and thick sauce.
30/11/2025: As delicious as always!!
Delivery was excellent and quick.
