Greg, Barbara and Laura are perfect at what they do and Greg is as good a chef as they come!
You must reserve, way in advance due to popularity.

Vandeleur Walled Garden & Visitor Centre

19/06/2025: A relaxing weekend visit. The garden is absolutely beautiful & a magical spot for children to play & explore. Cafe is average in decor but the cakes & pastries are lovely. There is a nice gift shop & also the option of buying plants which includes a large range of choice. I will go back fir another visit.

24/05/2025: My mother and I were passing through town and stopped here for lunch. It was definitely a local joint which I was glad about, but it was busy. Every interaction made you feel like you were bothering the staff. I can understand being busy, but it made for a negative experience. The food was ok.

The food was fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere was peaceful and inviting — you can really feel the care and heart behind everything here. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience all the more special. A beautiful place to pause, recharge, and feel at home. Highly recommend!

26/04/2025: The fish was good but the size of the fish was half the normal size that you get. The chips were awful. They charged high end prices though. Definitely not worth it. It’s like the profit was more important than a good portion size. Even the tartar sauce was tiny portion.

The starter for 2 was delicious, the ‘spice box’ amazing and the main course fantastic! Large portions throughout, would highly recommend!
20/01/2025: Best spice bag in Ireland, they actually put spices in it. Food is amazing and also cheaper and larger portions than other places in Kilrush. Best takeaway I have ever been to and I've lived in 3 different countries.

14/01/2025: Absolutely best cod always at Coffeys. Wife raves about their scampi. It’s a bit expensive but quality makes up for that. I’m glad I live forty kilometres, round trip, from them so it’s always a treat and never disappointes. Keep up the great work.
