10/06/2025: I got a takeout lunch and was impressed by the friendly helpful server, how quickly it arrived and how delicious it was. It was just over €11. It’s just what I liked, not too much bread and a great balance of protein to vegetables. The soup was full of goodness and flavour (I bet they used a good stock).
04/05/2025: They had Gluten Free cake! Specified as being GF ingredients made in a non-GF kitchen. Staff were sound, accommodated kids with a high chair, they took our buggy off to the side somewhere, made it easy for us. Nice one.

14/02/2025: stopped here twice during our week in ireland and it was so good we had to leave a review. we only had hot drinks but highly reccomended the chai lattes! the service was warm and welcoming. even the other customers were lovely and inviting. in a society of big coffee chains it’s lovely to see good independent cafés and to see a community come together to support a small business is heart warming!

13/05/2025: Great toppings on the pizzas, I had the 12inch Sicilian it's more filling than it looks, you could make four sandwiches out the toppings SAVAGE. deserts are gorgeous fresh fruit, fresh cream fresh ice-cream fresh meringue Eaton mess is the one ....

20/04/2025: The staff are nice and friendly nice quite atmosphere but I got braised beef and it was tough as a stone and the food actually gave me food poising I will never go in to this place to eat again will go for a pint because as I said nice staff and atmosphere

23/03/2025: We stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding. Nice, well maintained hotel with great attentive staff who were always happy to help and answered the phone very quickly. Leisure facilities were good, clean and looked after, you need to wear a swim hat but these can be loaned from leisure reception or brought for 2.50 euro.
Only very minor gripes were that the shower in the room was a bit temperamental with the hot and cold and it wasn't that powerful. Also breakfast was pretty average, did the job but nothing to write home about. If it wasn't for these two points then it would have been 5 stars.

The Central Bar Athenry

03/08/2024: We were there for 3 days and it was super fun in The Central Bar, highly recommended to have a beer there in the evening with the local people. We spent the night around the corner at The Old Barracks hotel, which is highly recommended and the breakfast is delicious.

22/03/2025: Lovely pub, great atmosphere with a great amount of beers on tap, good selection of whiskies aswell. Murphys was avaliable on draught which was great to see and tasted just as it should.

On arrival the dinning room was cold.
Food was the worst I'd ever eaten
The duck had fat layer of skin like a sponge slightly uncooked and the meat was tough like liver and tasteless ,chips over cooked.
They even managed to get a desert wrong in the kitchen
It was my first time eaten here and I only live few miles away
The service was slow and poor
Even after complaining we were charged full price with no apology from the chef or management.

19/06/2025: I saw someone else claim Mediterraneo as a "hidden gem" of Athenry in their review, and I couldn't agree more. We were only in town for two days, and I'm glad we chose Mediterraneo as one of our stops. Their pasta was SO good. I wish we could've stayed longer because they had so many enticing options to choose from. It wasn't too busy when we dined in, and our waitress was great. She checked in on us often, and we didn't have to wait long for anything. They're also very generous with their portion sizes, especially their ice cream. So don't skip out on dessert if you plan to dine in!
