03/11/2025: Excellent in every way. Our room was spotlessly clean and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. The food was first class, both evening a la carte and breakfast. Above all, every member of staff we met really were friendly and super efficient.

15/08/2025: 10/10. Visiting from Ontario, Canada. Dave was a real gem! His coffee recommendations and execution were spot on. The maple bacon bagel was excellent. Atmosphere and service was top notch. Definitely check this place out!!

22/10/2025: Favourite spot. Always great experience. Brunch, dinner or night out. Drinks, food, service, always excellent. Staff amazing and very helpful. Nice cosy place with homely feeling. Downstairs party room opened on weekends. Live music and always good time. Recommended.
11/10/2025: In the heart of this small Irish town, I found this beautiful place run by three young, very kind and delightful women.
I ate very well, and the prices are much lower than in nearby towns.
The selection of beers is as vast as ever, and the dishes are carefully prepared, plentiful, and delicious.
It's worth stopping in for lunch or dinner.

I had such a great experience! The customer service was genuinely warm and helpful — you can tell they really care about their customers. The food was delicious, fresh, and exactly what I was craving. On top of that, the delivery was super fast, which made everything even better. I’ll definitely be ordering again and recommending them to my friends. Keep up the amazing work!

27/07/2025: Found this bar on a trip up the River Shannon. We decided to go up the River Suck randomly and check out the town for the night. John was an amazing host, great bar and a beautiful town. Highly recommend a visit!

I‘d love to come back there someday, I had a tremendous Time there.
Prices for Beer are also very fair

18/10/2025: I could get no room in the shearwater hotel, they recommend pillar house bar to me, I just wanted a bed to sleep in, nothing fancy.
It's in the town , and a few steps down from the pub itself.
Absolutely did the job for me, the bed is massive and ensuite small but it's only me.
50 euro for the night no breakfast, that's grand
And no hurry up in the morning.

12/11/2025: Great staff. Great food. Lovely bedroom. Ground floor toilets (mens) need to maintained to a higher standard. Door locks not operational on a few cubicles. Flushing mechanism in some cubicles not functional.

hotel with super helpful staff, average restaurant, excellent services.
It's impossible to sleep after 6am
The gym under the rooms causes vibrations and noises with the falling weights.
If you change corridors, things could get worse. When there are parties, the music in the dance hall keeps you awake until 2:00 a.m.
If you have to sleep here for a long time you might come home with a nervous breakdown.

13/08/2025: Horrible foreign female staff member with glasses.
Food horrible, no sauce in burgers or taco fries. Onion rings saturated in oil. €24 for absolute rank.
