30/11/2025: We are regulars at Blackthorn because it’s our favourite restaurant in Galway. The food is really special and creative, always tastes amazing. We have never been disappointed. The service is wonderful, especially Fergal who knows every aspect of the menu and guides us through the wine list. Definitely go!
17/11/2025: Had a lovely dining experience here. Looking forward to my next visit. Fabulous food. Great staff who know how to look after diners without any fuss.

15/10/2025: My wife and I stopped in here for supper after seeing it earlier in the day and we were not disappointed. Everything was excellent, the atmosphere, food, and service were top notch. I would highly recommend the Tandoori Garlic Chilli Chicken and my wife would recommend the House Special Curry. A must visit if you are in Barna!

The Twelve Hotel Galway

17/11/2025: We stayed at the Twelve in Bearna with our two dogs, it was so lovely to see how genuinely welcoming the staff were and it was really dog friendly. There were gifts and treats for the doggies as well and a sweet card to welcome us. The staff are so helpful and friendly, we were able to take Archie and Poppy with us throughout the hotel. Other guests were really sweet and there were other little doggies staying over as well.
I would highly recommend the Twelve and we will be back.

04/10/2025: A disappointing pizza. Thought it would be decent with it being part of the 12. So much Tomato sauce meant the pizza was completely soggy and not crispy. Pizza barely sliced. And no flavour to the hot honey. At 16.50 it should be much better.
10/08/2025: This might actually be the worst pizza i ever had. I rang and asked what pizzas they did as there didn't seem to be a menu. I was told just pepperoni. ???

So I got a pepperoni, which came with almost no cheese. It was essentially just bread and some cheap sauce. It wasn't sliced. It tasted terrible. I would have been just as happy eating a slice of plain toast.
Imagine installing a fat oven pizza stove for some hot bread. So bad i actually left a review, which I've never done before.

09/07/2025: Having read the reviews, most of which were okay, I thought I'd give it a try. Chips were okay. Chicken kebab was inedible. Don't think I've ever stopped eating something so quickly.

28/08/2025: I ordered a few dishes from this takeout place, but the food was poor quality. The flavors were nonexistent, even with the classic Chinese dishes. A real shame. The prices were quite high.
10/07/2025: Very rude service. The food is good but I won't come back to a place that people treat you like that. I asked for the bill and she refused to give it to me.

30/03/2024: Great coffee. Busy popular spot in Barna Village. The pancakes with yogurt and berries were great and copious serving. Friendly staff. Nice outdoor seating if weather good. Warm and cosy indoors when weather otherwise. Local staff and which is becoming the exception..keep up the good work
