30/09/2025: This place is a good option to stay near Galway, the room is fine, nothing special very simple and require some basic renovation, our stay was pleasant but for what we payed we probably could find something much better and closer to town.
The best here is the restaurant and the staff, even if didn't have dinner due it was fully booked the night we stayed, we had breakfast there next day and it was really good. Parking is small but enough, we had to wait for a while to be able to park but is included with no extra cost which is fine.

27/10/2025: The food was really good but weird experience, I got made to feel bad when I said I have an intolerance to eggs and asked to have avocado with my salmon instead. I get that it messed with the usual price but most places are understandable when it comes to intolerances.
28/08/2025: Very friendly staff, delicious scones, and good coffee and tea.
Nicely decorated and very clean!
Highly recommended.

30/06/2025: We ate here on both of our evenings in the beautiful village of Portmagee. Magnificent seafood, I had hake here on one night and John Dory the second - both fantastic.
We all ate well and had a visit from the friendly owner making sure all was well.
As an aside, we also had breakfast here, again it was excellent.
All servers were friendly, helpful and attentive. I could not recommend this restaurant/Balmore highly.
13/06/2025: We spent a week driving around eating at some really great restaurants in Ireland, but this one was one of the absolute best. An amazing surprise, considering the few choices in this town for food. Everything was done with fresh, quality ingredients and with a great attention to detail. Just a great surprise and an amazing lunch. Best brown bread I had in Ireland. The lamb shanks and the stew are highly recommended.

Very poor food & it's only open a week you'd think they'd atleast try to impress at the opening to reel future customers in? ...😬
Chips were either cooked in dirty oil or overcooked. Basically inedible and at €6 for a large portion... Spice bag chili/seasoning was burnt from the wok as seen in picture... Pure black. Asked for extra onion in spice bag in the 'CHEFS NOTES' got no veg at all never mind extra 🤣 might aswel get rid of the option to write requests haha 😂
Wrapo was the only half decent thing, otherwise this would have been a 1 star review. Will not be returning my lord 👎

23/10/2025: Sushi as good as I've eaten anywhere.
They were very helpful, because one of our party wanted a seaweed salad, and they made some up fresh, and it was delicious as well.
Tip, we asked at the pub next door if we could eat there, and they were ok with it...super friendly staff in both places.
The Birra Moretti zero, and the Gingibeer went well with it, but they also have Asahi in the restaurant... so you are covered wither way.
YUMMMMMMMM! Really. Thank you, Sakura and The Thatch Pub (I think).
08/09/2025: Always getting our take away sushi from here. We’re having high standards on sushi, Sakura is def the way to go. Never fails. Top salmon nigiri and great quality. Fantastic miso soup and gyoza. We always either collect or get delivery, so can’t say anything about eating in.

10/11/2025: Got food for delivery at the weekend & it was cold getting to me. Disappointed because I love this place and was so looking forward to it! Had to airfry the chips and the kebab wrap was only mildly warm. God knows how long it was made and sitting waiting to be delivered.
03/11/2025: Incredible value. €9.95 for chicken box, the portion is massive. Food tastes fresh. Staff is friendly.
However I could not give 5 stars because the food is very unhealthy. The chicken was dripping with oil.
