10/12/2025: My partner ordered half and half with my chicken curry (rice and chips). He had to leave early and I paid. My bill was more than expected -I saw that I was charged €4 on my bill for a separate portion of chips. I remembered that they had done the same thing last time I was in, so it seems deliberate. It's not nice because most customers would feel uncomfortable bringing this up with the staff. Last time they grudgingly gave me a poxy €1 back as consolation. The Guinness pint tasted fizzy. I said nothing and left. I absolutely won't be returning.
05/12/2025: This lovely Gastro Pub has to be one of the very best around County Galway.
The Food, Atmosphäre and friendly Staff is incredible.
Highly recommended.
I will be back.

30/09/2025: This place is a good option to stay near Galway, the room is fine, nothing special very simple and require some basic renovation, our stay was pleasant but for what we payed we probably could find something much better and closer to town.
The best here is the restaurant and the staff, even if didn't have dinner due it was fully booked the night we stayed, we had breakfast there next day and it was really good. Parking is small but enough, we had to wait for a while to be able to park but is included with no extra cost which is fine.

30/06/2025: We ate here on both of our evenings in the beautiful village of Portmagee. Magnificent seafood, I had hake here on one night and John Dory the second - both fantastic.
We all ate well and had a visit from the friendly owner making sure all was well.
As an aside, we also had breakfast here, again it was excellent.
All servers were friendly, helpful and attentive. I could not recommend this restaurant/Balmore highly.
13/06/2025: We spent a week driving around eating at some really great restaurants in Ireland, but this one was one of the absolute best. An amazing surprise, considering the few choices in this town for food. Everything was done with fresh, quality ingredients and with a great attention to detail. Just a great surprise and an amazing lunch. Best brown bread I had in Ireland. The lamb shanks and the stew are highly recommended.

05/11/2025: On a rainy Tuesday in Oranmore, this was a lovely place to go for breakfast or a scone and coffee. Very clean and great service. Good food too of course!
27/10/2025: The food was really good but weird experience, I got made to feel bad when I said I have an intolerance to eggs and asked to have avocado with my salmon instead. I get that it messed with the usual price but most places are understandable when it comes to intolerances.

18/12/2025: Sushi is more like mini sushi. Much smaller than normal. Same with the chicken balls. Spice bag was quite dry and boring, curry sauce was watery and had absolutely no flavour but it’s smell was strong. Wouldn’t go there again.

The food was delicious, everything, sushi, ramen, beef on sizzling plate with noddles, giozas, wow! Fresh veggies and the quality of the meat was really good.
They also have a lovely bento box for kids with so many different options, my son loved the chicken, giozas and chips, even small pieces of cucumber sushi for them to try, yummy! He told it was as good as grandma's breaded chicken.
And the size of the portions, just a lot of everything!
Service really good as well!
