08/06/2025: Beautiful and very tasty food, lovely staff. It's hard to find a better restaurant in north-west Dublin.

28/05/2025: Had previously left a glowing review after coming here for years. Unfortunately a recent takeaway experience really let us down. Prawn curry was watery with about 3 prawns and no veg, staff were very unapologetic when we rang. All they had to do was acknowledge and offer to make it right, now we won't be back. Real shame.

30/05/2025: Wish there was a zero stars. Won’t elaborate here but will not be back.

04/03/2025: Not my first visit...collected food and when I arrived home 5 minutes later the food was COLD. No reason for this. The mixed starter plater was terrible, everything from frozen pre made, no flavour and cold. The mains were really small each contained 4 small pieces of chicken per serving but the most disappointing was the flavour, non existent. The naan bread was wet and soggy.....It seems here in Ireland now we accept any old over priced rubbish as standard. Please don't ever feel it is not right to complain when its terrible service or food. You are spending your money and expect something better then this in return......

22/06/2025: Ordered delivery. Expected to wait 40 min but arrived in half the time, a wonderful surprise. We ordered the butter chicken, tandoori chicken, chicken biryani, and samosas. All were decent sized portions which filled us up. Favorite dish was the tandoori chicken (I wish we got a second order of this instead of the butter chicken). The dishes also came with different chutneys (tamarind, mint, yogurt & cucumber) and we liked all. Only critique is more chicken would have been nice in the butter chicken. Will be ordering again!

07/06/2025: Have been ordering from Spice Cove for years. Never had a bad meal. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the Saag and the Shashi Mugh. And the kebabs. Wow!!!

06/06/2025: What a terrible experience! The staff were extremely unwelcoming. We ordered a set meal that included a starter, a main course, and a dessert. The starter portions were ridiculously small—just a tiny piece of each item. The main course was also disappointing, with barely any meat in the dish; it was mostly sauce. And for dessert, there was no choice at all—just ice cream. We considered ordering an extra dessert, but after checking the menu, we found nothing interesting—and none of the options were Indian, which was surprising. To make matters worse, the cutlery were extremely old and poorly cleaned, which made the whole experience feel even more unpleasant. When my ice cream arrived, they gave me a teaspoon to eat it, showing a total lack of attention to detail from the staff. As for the food itself, it was overly sweet and completely lacking in seasoning—nothing like authentic Indian cuisine. Honestly, it was the worst restaurant meal I've ever had. I would never recommend this place to anyone looking for good food and decent service.

06/06/2025: I had high hopes for Shanai, given its promise of authentic Indian flavours, but unfortunately, the experience fell flat. The food was underwhelming – lacking the bold spices and richness you’d expect from Indian cuisine. Dishes tasted bland and uninspired, missing the depth and warmth that define a good Indian meal. Service was equally lacklustre, with staff seeming disengaged and the overall atmosphere failing to make up for the culinary shortcomings. Compared to other Indian restaurants in Dublin that deliver on both flavour and hospitality, Shanai simply doesn’t hold up. If you’re looking for an authentic and flavourful Indian dining experience, there are certainly better options elsewhere in the city.

29/05/2025: Timeline of a disappointment. May 28th - 17.09 received email announcing jazz night 2 course meal on Friday 20th for €25, 17.24 replied querieing date, 17.27 reply apologising for error and confirming date of 30th, 17.33 received email confirming reservation, 18.05 received amended email for same deal but on corrected date, 21.04 received phone call advising of error about price, 21.12 received email confirming cancellation. Reminds me of the booking I made a couple of years ago for a Christmas meal for a party of five on the 2nd Tuesday of December, only to receive a phone call late on the afternoon of the 2nd cancelling the reservation because the restaurant wasn't open!

17/04/2025: De hecho, he estado aquí dos veces recientemente y tuve una muy buena noche en ambas ocasiones. He estado viniendo aquí durante años y después de haber probado un montón de restaurantes indios en Dublín este sigue siendo mi favorito. En ambas noches comí aquí este mes la comida era excelente. Los entrantes eran muy buenos - compartimos cebolla bhajis y samosa chat. También son grandes. La red era muy buena y llegó humeante caliente y placas calientes fueron traídos justo antes de que llegaran - ocasionalmente llegan demasiado pronto. Muy feliz de que la saag de pollo está ahora en el menú. El ambiente es acogedor y relajado. Ahora tienen una botella Bring - your - own - lo que significa que puedes disfrutar de tu vino favorito a precios de supermercado por una tarifa razonable de descorche.

10/03/2025: Food from Chutni has always been incredible however, the lack of follow up from the establishment after one of their drivers was threatening to my friend for parking in a public car park is horrific. I have contacted Chunti twice in relation to this, both times being promised the owner will contact me but after 6+ weeks I have yet to hear from them. Their driver threatened to have my friends car clamped because she parked in the public car park, much further down from the establishment. I explained to him that having lived in the area for 20 years - a clamping agency has never been employed/ enforced there. There are also no signs up within the car park stating clamping is in operation also. The establishment staff assured me that there is no clamping agency enforced in the car park, advising me that the driver only works for them every so often - which is untrue as he is seen there almost daily when they are open. Really disappointed in how they have responded to this. If it was a group of males the driver would have minded his own business however, he decided to intimidate young girls, one who is also heavily pregnant.

13/07/2025: Estábamos buscando un lugar para comer y nos decidimos por este restaurante porque estaba cerca. Nos recibieron y nos sentaron rápidamente. Los aromas de la cocina eran maravillosos. Pedimos un vindaloo, un bombay aloo y un chana masala + naan y arroz. Todo estaba delicioso. El vindaloo era lo suficientemente picante como para tener un toque ligero sin ser abrumador (nota: nos gusta la comida picante, por lo que sus resultados pueden variar). El servicio fue bueno, todo salió en buen tiempo. Recomendaría hacer una reserva para garantizar que consigas una mesa, ya que el restaurante no es muy grande y parece ser popular entre los lugareños.

07/07/2025: Maten var helt ok, litt smakløs sammenlignet med annen indisk mat. Servicen var derimot helt fabelaktig! Ønsker du en litt roligere kveld med fantastisk service er det en fin plass å besøke.

09/09/2024: Toilets were an absolute disgrace, I have seen ones in better condition in nightclubs at 3am. Completely flooded toilet paper everywhere, bins overflowing weren't cleaned id say in weeks. Another review said the same 3 months ago! Would strongly question how clean the kitchen is if that's the pride they take in the bathrooms. The Restaurant is like something out of kitchen nightmares flooring is peeling off the ground my foot sank into a floorboard going to the toilet. Couldn't have spent a euro on the place in years. Prices are very expensive for the state of the place, McDonald's genuinely looks better. However the food was very nice and service was good.

06/09/2024: We visited this restaurant later on a Sunday evening and were quickly greeted, sat, and ordered. The food was fresh and tasty. The portions are fairly large as well. The butter Naan was super fluffy and great for dipping in our sauces! Two of our friends ordered the Mango Lassi and enjoyed that as well.

14/07/2025: I ordered a tofu spice bag and got chicken?!! I DONT EAT MEAT!DISGRACFUL Definitely delivered my order last on purpose. Stopped ordering here 4 years ago due to poor food quality,I should have kept my streak.

01/06/2025: Worst service ever ever!! I was waiting over an hour and when I called to check if everything was okay they said my number was blacklisted? They never even knocked to my house or called to double check. So bizarre Obviously got the address wrong so rude never ordering from here again
