26/03/2024: I recently attended the Gate Restaurant for breakfast. The food was top quality at a very fair price. The venue has a very traditional Irish cafe feel to it which works really well. The staff were super welcoming and made us feel valued as customers. Reasons to come back included: 1. Food quality 2. Staff friendliness 3. Table layout was nice and spaced and clean 4. Coffee comes with breakfast and only 70c supplement for speciality coffee e.g. latte, cappuccino etc. I will definitely be returning to the Gate Restaurant again soon, thank you for your first class hospitality.

17/03/2024: Three of us went for lunch on a Saturday. The food and service were excellent. Staff were also extremely helpful. We had the grilled chicken with mushroom sauce, the fish and chips, and the lunch deal (soup, sambo, t/c), followed by a berry crumble and custard to share. It was also very good value.

10/01/2024: Absolutely appalled with the service, I went into this pub for breakfast and waiting a long time on service, I can understand they are understaffed and won't employ more people but anyway I went in and my son had a bottle of 7up coming in and the owner, a very nasty man shouted Infront of every customer that he must get out with the 7up , he could have came over and explained that he can't have it on his premises but instead,made a big scene Infront of a lot of people . I will never step foot into this pub again . 0/5

29/03/2024: AVOID AT ALL COSTS, went here with wife an kids and we were met with unfriendly staff. Went ahead and got a drinks including cordial for the kids, they charged 4 euros for 2 glasses of cordial with a round of drinks. When I mentioned this to the manager that it is by far ridiculous expensive he could not care and was very rude. We left and went to Gilnas pub down the road and had a much better experience with nicer staff and prices! Never going again !

28/03/2024: Not a great location, worst Supermacs I've been to. Parking is difficult as Navan Town is congested all the time. Even at 20:30 it was a bit edgy with a few unsavoury characters about the place

27/02/2024: Today was probably my last day going to O'Brien for coffee. I asked soy milk, fair enough, they said they don't have I chose coconut, I am getting charged €1 extra, it doesn't make sense to me but it is was it is. They start making my chai latte, as far as I understand coconut milk wasn't enough and they poured skimmed milk in the jug and steamed and end up in my cup. I wasn't in the mood to make a scene, I said to my self coconut is strong enough I will not understand the diff, unfortunately I did and my chai end up in the bin (completely my fault that I didn't mention it earlier to these girls). Anyways my point is if any of you pay this overpriced plant based milk and have any allergy, please make sure that they don't mix it with regular milk.

24/01/2024: Asked for a buttered toasted bagel for my 5 year old and a turkey melt bagel for me. They gave me an unbuttered toasted bagel, and a turkey melt which had been microwaved. The cheese hadn’t cooled down after 15 mins so brought the whole lot back. Got a nice buttered toasted bagel. The turkey melt had now been drowned in mayonnaise, wiped off what I could but still inedible.

21/12/2023: Place is a kip food is rotten staff are very rude and useless the chipper itself is filthy cobwebs all over the place counters filthy food left over from morning to night stay clear guys
