The best restaurantsof italian in Louth

31/12/2024: Had an excellent visit with my family to La Pizzeria Clogherhead. Booked for 5.00pm . Food was superb. Starters we had the prawns with garlic bread and for mains was pizza. The only small negative was the long wait for the food and then they rushed exit at 7.00pm for next sitting. I would still recommend but if a couple book the later sitting...

29/12/2024: Food excellent as always. Exceptional service. Our favourite restaurant happens to be on our doorstep. How lucky are we!!

06/02/2025: Lovely atmosphere. Delicious food. Great service. Best in the evening at weekends. Reasonably priced. Nice decor in the upstairs restaurant. Not wheelchair friendly. Don't let the rundown appearance of the street entrance put you off. Recommended.

26/01/2025: Visited restaurant at 6pm with group of three people. Ordered a starter and main meal. After 1 hour waiting for mains I checked in with a staff member. Eventually we got our food. One meal was the wrong dish completely. My dish was dry, it seemed to have been sat and let congeal. When paying for meal, we were charged for someone else's table ( hence why we got a wrong main meal ). The serving staff were very pleasant but the service was terrible. Very pricy for such bad food and bad service.

27/10/2024: Absolutely HORRENDOUS experience! What once was a lovely restaurant is definitely not anymore. Our table was the first problem as it was located in a dark alcove beside the toilets, disgraceful! The wait staff were very good and gave us a different table when we asked. Unfortunately it was beside a fire exit door which seemed extremely unsafe as the tables appeared to prevent a clear exit from the building in the event of a fire. We were also too close to the tables either side of us and the chairs were extremely rickety and unsafe. The starters were barely finished, approximately 3 minutes, when the main courses were put in front of us! Extremely disappointing! We didn't even have the time to digest our starters before our main courses were put out! As for said main courses....where do I start! The lasagna was swimming in liquid with virtually no meat and the "spicy chicken" dish was honestly the WORST dish I have ever, ever tasted! Four vegetables and chicken from a packet! Disgusting! Not only that but the sauce tasted like fresh cream heated and thrown on top of the dish - awful! The only thing we could pick at were the chips. While the staff were nice they couldn't make up for the disgusting quality of the food and the establishment itself. What once was an amazing Italian in Dunleer is now an extremely disappointing, inedible dining experience. Avoid at all costs!!!!

07/02/2025: Wow, we have been back again it was still as good as our first visit. Love the service and the food is consistent. Back again soon.. Thanks guys!!

16/08/2024: We actually went to the Genoa which is neighbouring Sorentos and owned by the same people. Best smoked cod and chips I've had for years with lovely light batter. Plenty of options for the kids, with burgers and nuggets etc., and it was clean plates all around.
