Ichibanya Sushi and Noodles Bar
Cork, <20£
19/01/2025: I've been looking for this place my whole life! I found it completely by accident, very tasty rolls, big size, super nice staff, they brought me a gift from the establishment, just because they dropped one potato, it was too nice, the atmosphere is super, very clean 10000/10
16/01/2025: Excellent quality, unpretentious. Ate here 3 times in 3 days.

Wabisabi

11/01/2025: One of the most disappointing place that I have ever been to
Rude staff food was smelly and rotten vegetables were served
Will never go again
Wasted my 50 euros🤦🏻

Sakura
Cork
02/02/2025: The restaurant is beautiful, we took sushi and noodles and both dishes were authentic Japanese. For dessert I ordered cheesecake, it looked just perfect, but after taking a bite I realized that it was just a piece of ice. I asked to change it. They brought the same piece of ice. This means that the desserts are not freshly prepared, but taken out of the freezer. I really didn’t like this. Everything else is great.
02/02/2025: I try japonese food but not here but in Holland.

Dashi
Cork
11/01/2025: Dashi is consistently my favourite spot for casual dining in the city and also, in my opinion, the best option for takeaway food that won't leave you feeling bloated and sick.
Last night I had the Pork Belly Ramen which I asked for with udon noodles and it was just so delicious! The pork was sensational, plentiful and melt in the mouth , the broth was both fragrant yet subtle, and the noodles were hearty with some texture and crunch from spring onion and peppers.
This dish is €13.50 on their menu, a price you would struggle to find anywhere in Cork City centre, the ingredients were fresh and I felt nourished, satisfied, and not bloated afterwards. Great for anyone looking for good, nutritious food that you don't have to take out a second mortgage to afford.
And they are on Deliveroo!
21/12/2024: This used to be my favourite sushi place but I haven't been here for over a year. I came and ordered a salmon onigiri. Maybe I came on an off day, but the rice was oddly hard in places and tasted nearly completely unseasoned. It's pretty typical of onigiri to have little filling to rice ratio, but it was nearly ridiculous here. All in all, there's much better places in the city that are better worth the money.

Maki Sushi Rolls
Cork
02/09/2024: I always get the Atlantic salmon bowl. One of my favourite things to eat

Ichigo Ichie
Cork
23/01/2025: We ate here for a special occasion recently and didn't feel it was good value, really, or even very nice food.
We had 3 courses, and the edamame beans we got as a starter were the only real veg we saw. I asked when ordering whether we should order veg on the side for our main course and were told no, but the plates were lacking. My main course was Kuro Curry - the black curry sauce was not very interesting but rich and drowned the entire plate so every bite tasted just like the first I was bored of it before I was half way through. The accompanying fermented bell pepper (yes, a veg!) was tiny in portion, less than a garnish, less than a forkful not enough to impart any flavour over the curry.
My gubbeen smoked cheesecake was interesting but not really pleasing and not sweet enough to be described as dessert (throw a bit of ham in and it would have made a nice lunch).
We ate using a gift voucher so blew the last of it on some warm saki which was nice but as others have noted, seems overpriced.
All in all, expensive and disappointing.
14/01/2025: The most amazing Japanese food in Cork. Such good quality and care put into their food.
