The Oratory Pizza and Wine Bar

17/03/2024: Drove by and seen an opportunity to try something new, Pizza in a church! Decor inside is cool, really liked the stained glass windows and was lively enough. The service seemed a bit lacking, although we were seated quickly we got a bit of an unwelcome vibe from the staff. We ordered nachos for starters which when placed on the table were clearly burnt on one side of the dish, literally black. I understand this may occur when melting the cheese but remove the burnt ones before serving them at least. The pizzas were not to our liking either unfortunately, the dough base is tasteless and has a cracker consistency that just tastes of flour. Bar the novelty of eating in a church, the food was sub par for us.

The pizzas were good with a nice light base. Varied & interesting choice of toppings. Nice wine selection also.
It was busy, but we got a table at short notice.

21/03/2024: This place is awesome! The food is light and perfect for a late time snack after the ring of kerry or a spot of breakfast in the morning before you begin.
I really enjoyed the pizza. The crust was cooked perfectly. The cheese was fresh and delicious. The flat white was great also.
The lady at the front was so sweet and helped us with a lot of questions we had. She was attentive and helpful.
Loved this spot and will come back again.

19/08/2023: The perfect place if you want to enjoy a typical meal accompanied by a refreshing beer. Furthermore, the owner is very kind and courteous and the place never lacks joy. In short, a highly recommended pub, which overlooks the main road, and capable of surprising.

05/02/2024: What can I say the food is on 7 days a week and if you are looking for a quick bite to eat during the week or a proper roast dinner at the weekend this is definitely the place to go. A nice and down to earth irish bar and yet a made to order menu for food

06/09/2023: Unfortunately, the gas pumps are very, very dirty and sometimes they display utopian prices. Diesel gloves or paper towels are also not provided.
If possible, I fill up elsewhere.
27/08/2023: Stopped by chance to use the bathrooms, which were spotlessly clean, then went into the store, honestly blown away by the size and range, and the prices are reasonable. We’ve been travelling down the wild atlantic way and honestly been robbed everywhere and let down by whats available - these guys should run every shop in Ireland, outstanding, they have everything you could possibly need. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

11/10/2023: We enjoyed a really nice evening meal here. The main menu is somewhat limited, but there was a wide choice of specials ( see photo), and our three choices were excellent and very good value. Wine prices were alao very fair - lots <€30. Best of all we had no booking but were seated on arrival.

30/03/2024: Chips were a bit soggy, orders got messed up and we accidentally took each other's food (within the group), lady seemed annoyed at that. Wait was quite long.
Probably would have no complaint if I got there drunk
29/03/2024: The food as well as the service (and the Ambiente) could not have been worse. When we entered into the restaurant, we were confronted with such high humidity that the windows were wet on the inside and even the wall was wet.
On top of that, one friend of mine (we were three persons) received his food 15 minutes before the rest of us causing his food to get cold as soon as the rest of us received their food.
Finally, the employee forgot the chicken wings we ordered on top of the fish meal. We had to remind her to put it in the bag. When we arrived at home, we discovered that the sauces were missing as well.
Because of all that, I would definitely not visit this place ever again. The whole place gave us a very discomforting and unhygienic feeling.
