17/10/2024: The reviews are slightly exaggerated; so many glowing reviews are somewhat questionable. The food was decent, but definitely not Michelin quality. We had to wait half an hour, while 2 tables were occupied, and it remained fairly empty during our stay. I don't think Suzi was there😂

The service is impeccable, the staff adorable and the food delicious with incursions of very well chosen foreign foods.

12/10/2024: A first time visit for The Ordinarypunter, and we weren't disappointed Service was exceptional. It was a joy to receive good Irish hospitality and attentive staff. Food was ok. Nothing that made me want to say wow! It was all good, and I recommend int but not exceptional. I liked it overall. A couple of points to note:
this is a genuine review from a real person. be wary of some of the reviews on TA that are just generic glowing 5 star reviews. They look pretty bogus
the portions are very large (we couldn't finish our main courses) so you might just want to share a starter or such like

06/10/2024: Great bar. Decent selection of taps and a surprisingly nice cocktail menu. Pizza is excellent. Staff are sound. Big beer garden out the back. Cozy inside seating area.
28/09/2024: We had a wonderful stay in the Apartment at the Kingstons in early Sept. Rooms were newly renovated, nicely furnished and very clean. The kitchen area is well stocked with anything you need to cook. The staff were all very helpful. We enjoyed the pizza at the pub as well. Plenty of free parking nearby and lots of restaurant choices. I would 100% recommend staying here.
The only improvements I would suggest is to have a luggage stand for every room and have some place in the shower to put soap and shampoo. There’s nothing in the shower to put anything except on the floor, which is very strange.

26/10/2024: I had the baked Hake, which was a very generous portion with a lovely creamy sauce. I would have to say that it was slightly dry and so were the mashed potatoes, but overall, very good food.
Stove was burning bright, and there was a good-natured group beside us. So the atmosphere was jolly and warm.
21/10/2024: The best leek and potato soup I’ve ever had. Found this place when we were driving and stopped in for a quick bite and was surprised by the soup. The toasty was average but the experience was made memorable by the delicious soup.

08/09/2024: What can be said about this place is that it is unique. Old Church of Ireland. Food? Well, this is something special. Despite the late hour, the cook did a great job. There's no need for a photo because it wouldn't show the extra flavor. Salmon tartare with caviar delighted the taste buds. Non-alcoholic mojito perfection. We cordially invite and encourage everyone to eat something.

13/09/2024: One of the most delicious meals I can remember! I ordered a vegan curry - it was so fresh and perfect texture and flavors! The environment was calm and welcoming. And the staff lovely - the woman (didn’t catch her name) re-arranged things to accommodate me (without a booking) and was so friendly and also recommended the curry. The guy serving was also friendly. Thank you so much to the team and chefs! 🤗🫶🏾

24/08/2024: The music is good, too bad they don't want tourists around. In fact, I paid a whopping €30 for a single malt Dingle whiskey batch no.2 (the bottle on the market costs around €70/100). When I asked for the price list, they advised me to look for it outside the door.

We ordered hot & sour soup. The soup was neither hot or sour. It was dessert-like sweet.
-special chowmein: overcooked chowmein noodles drowned in bland sauce. Very bland.
- chicken fried rice. Lots of chicken, but rotisserie-style in texture and taste.
- wonton soup. About the only thing edible. Not bad, but nothing to write home about.
No idea how this place earned do many positive 5-star reviews. Maybe the chef had an off day today? We couldn’t eat any of the food.
We ordered two soups, and the lady at the register can only give us one spoon (the only spoon left in the restaurant, she said).
Also, we were eating outside because they do take out only, not allowing in door dining.
I do want to point out the lady at the register was nice.

16/10/2024: Two employees had to serve me. Firstly, both of them couldn't handle my order. The first order was completely wrong. The second order was simply a complete failure. I wouldn't leave a single cent more in this store. The fries weren't even cooked through. The only thing you could drink was the cola and it wasn't that cold either. 1st photo first order 2nd photo 2nd order
06/10/2024: Best fast food around. Fresh chips, great burgers and pizzas. All are served on an actual plate. Have to say there are some great deals for 2 for around 20 euro
