10/11/2024: What a wonderful night out! Just happened to be in the area, having travelled from Monaghan. Delicious food, fantastic menu and great atmosphere. The chef/owner is clearly passionate about what he does. I loved that you could see him and his staff cook and it was great to see him chatting with people at their tables. We loved everything about this place. A great night out.

19/10/2024: D'un point de vue français la façade ferait presque fuir (comme souvent en Irlande) mais il faut pousser la porte, c'est juste parfait à tous points de vue, ambiance, cuisine, rien à redire. J'ai fait beaucoup de pubs / restaurants en Irlande, celui-ci fait partie de mes préférés.

The Salmon Pool Bar

11/09/2024: I was walking, exploring and noticed this gem, sparkling by the river Nore.
I walked in and was greeted by a friendly crew. The landlord was a sweetie, served the bestest gin & slim. The locals shared their Irish hospitality. I am only sad to leave and miss the live music on Saturday 14th September. Now I have made new friends I will return when Irish eyes are singing!

22/11/2024: Hidden gem in Thomastown. Food a staff delicious and super friendly. There scrambled eggs are the nicest scrambled eggs I've ever tasted. So light and fluffy and perfectly seasoned! Oh and here apple french toast 🤤 definitely worth a visit!

10/11/2024: We had a takeaway and like some of the other reviews mentioned, there is simply not enough meat in the dishes. It is far too expensive for a takeaway and the portion sizes. The onion bhajis were cremated and then reheated. I would be embarrassed giving them to someone let alone selling them. I never finish an Indian takeaway when at home (we were visiting family) but this didn’t fill any of us. The containers are very large but they are all sauce. Additionally rice is extra and does not come with the dishes. Portions of that are small. We ordered two Naan breads and they gave us the incorrect ones. And in the same vein every Indian restaurant I have been to around the world provide complimentary poppadoms, mint sauce etc. There was none of that here. I won’t be returning.
14/10/2024: Visitamos ayer y optamos por una comida para llevar en lugar de comer en.
Muhammad era muy amable y ofreció un gran servicio. Nos dijeron que la comida estaría lista en 25 minutos y así fue.
La comida estaba deliciosa, cocinada perfectamente y los productos muy frescos utilizados.
Sin duda volveremos cuando vuelva en la zona.

18/10/2024: So i have been here on a few different occasions.
There spice box is consistant and its ok not amazing but it does the job.
There fried rice very bland pure white not a bit of brown tint to be seen.
Fried noddles do be burnt.
Curry,Oyster and black bean sauces all flavourless no seasoning its like the chef has no pride in there cooking what so ever,so sad to see.

A place that my family have used for many years and was always top notch.
But that takeaway was awful and I mean awful.
The Chips were cheap and nasty..rock hard at the ends a soggy in the middle.
The ribs were disgusting...no meat on them and old and tough.
The Chicken dish was awful..bland and chewy
The Beef dish was tough and tasteless
I could go on and on..it was like a cheap Lidl microwave meal
Very poor show at a very expensive price
This takeaway has lost a regular long-standing family permanently
