19/10/2024: D'un point de vue français la façade ferait presque fuir (comme souvent en Irlande) mais il faut pousser la porte, c'est juste parfait à tous points de vue, ambiance, cuisine, rien à redire. J'ai fait beaucoup de pubs / restaurants en Irlande, celui-ci fait partie de mes préférés.

The Salmon Pool Bar

11/09/2024: I was walking, exploring and noticed this gem, sparkling by the river Nore.
I walked in and was greeted by a friendly crew. The landlord was a sweetie, served the bestest gin & slim. The locals shared their Irish hospitality. I am only sad to leave and miss the live music on Saturday 14th September. Now I have made new friends I will return when Irish eyes are singing!

14/10/2024: Well worth a detour to visit one of Thomastown's foodie hotspots! A lovely fusion of South African & French, I'm still working my way through their various culinary delights, so waited a while before giving a review! Their daily lunch specials are always worth a try, and as with everything else on their menu, it is all made from scratch, clearly with high quality ingredients, given the flavours they manage to achieve.
The highlight for me however, has to be the exquisitely layered & flaky pastries, by far the best I've had anywhere!!..including France!!!
Service is always so friendly & attentive, and Julien & Ashika are always so warm & welcoming, with a clear passion for what they do!
Don't be put off by the slightly underwhelming exterior...I for one am very happy they found Thomastown!! After seeing what they turned out for a one-off Fathers Day full Lunch this year, I'm hoping that it's a case of watch this space, with even more to come from them!...No pressure guys!!! Congrats on your recent Blas na hÉireann awards too!!
12/10/2024: Food was fine. Service a disaster: inattentive, errors, nearly overcharged, bad humoured. Don't bother.

14/10/2024: We visited yesterday and opted for a takeaway rather than eat in.
Muhammad was super friendly and offered great service. We were told the food would be ready in 25 minutes and it was.
The food was delicious, cooked perfectly and very fresh produce used.
We will definitely return when next in the area.
03/10/2024: We all had the best food 😋 I would recommend this lovely little restaurant to any one the food is delicious 😋 the service was excellent 😋

18/10/2024: So i have been here on a few different occasions.
There spice box is consistant and its ok not amazing but it does the job.
There fried rice very bland pure white not a bit of brown tint to be seen.
Fried noddles do be burnt.
Curry,Oyster and black bean sauces all flavourless no seasoning its like the chef has no pride in there cooking what so ever,so sad to see.

A place that my family have used for many years and was always top notch.
But that takeaway was awful and I mean awful.
The Chips were cheap and nasty..rock hard at the ends a soggy in the middle.
The ribs were disgusting...no meat on them and old and tough.
The Chicken dish was awful..bland and chewy
The Beef dish was tough and tasteless
I could go on and on..it was like a cheap Lidl microwave meal
Very poor show at a very expensive price
This takeaway has lost a regular long-standing family permanently
