The best restaurants in Abbeyleix

16/03/2024: Edit: I have been living here for a month now. While the main barista does a great job, other staff don't seem to be qualified. The espresso is an over-extracted, bitter mess that masks the coffee beans’ lovely flavour profile. At this stage I cannot possibly recommend the espresso to coffee enthusiasts. Now that I've received my espresso machine, I will simply be purchasing coffee beans from here. The micro-foam is uneven, the cappuccinos and mochas never have a consistent weight. The mochas, when made by the main barista have an adequate cocoa flavour, while other times it ends up tasting like drip coffee mixed with a Cadbury knock-off. Original review, bar the coffee part: The cream on the cinnamon swirl is to die for. The people in the bakery are the loveliest, from the staff and owner to the customers themselves. It's the kind of business that makes us glad we moved to Abbeyleix.

22/01/2024: Service with a smile. Came In here once to escape the chills of winter, but with nice stools and counters to have your coffee or hot chocolate at, I've come back time and time again. Great drinks at great prices with the woman who works here always coming across as kind and approachable.

19/11/2023: Excellent coffee in a shop packed with interesting wines and a great range of quality fancy foods. Lovely staff too.

26/03/2024: The food was absolutely fantastic. A table for 4 enjoyed the tasting menu on Saturday 23/3. Really impressive and a good comparison with Dublin Tasting Menus. Variety, flavours, presentation and absolutely service- all amazing. Great knowledge on wines from sommelier with great quality without Dublin additional supplement. Not cheap - However we would say value for money. Well done 👏

09/03/2024: I had the pleasure of dining here yesterday evening with a friend. We were greeted by a lovely lady, who remained so attentive all evening. We began with their new Spring cocktail, and opted for starter, main, dessert over the taster menu. I had the best tasting meal I've ever experienced! Scallops to start followed by venison and chocolate soufflé to finish. This beautiful restaurant cannot be faulted. Friendly staff that know the menu inside-out, amazingly presented food that tastes even better than it looks! I'm so pleased to have this gem so close to home. I cannot wait to return!

21/03/2024: was at a meeting here in the function room seems to be a nice hotel the only problem I saw was the toilets in the function room were very out dated other than that it was lovely
