04/05/2026: I am 55 years old and I have frequented thousands of pubs in my life, I can say without hesitation that Morrisey's is the best pub that I have ever been in.
The Guinness is lovely (which is usually a good indicator),the pub itself is immaculately clean, the restrooms are elegant and tastefully designed.
the Lady behind the counter (Orla) is more than professional, Orla knew when to engage in conversation and when to leave people alone, she was friendly and welcoming and happy to explain the history of the pub. I 100% recommend popping into this beautiful pub

It was excellent. Pork was very tender flavours delicious, followed by - hot salted Caramel pot. Staff lovely.
Highly recommend a visit to Bramley's as a treat.

02/05/2026: We had our wedding at the Abbeyleix manor, I have to say they are excellent, they were well organised, they made all the planning much easier, food and atmosphere was brilliant, I highly recommend anyone who is planning to have a wedding there the feedback we got from friends and family said it all. Well deserved 5 stars
19/04/2026: Stayed overnight recently for an event in the ballroom. The staff were fantastic and extremely friendly and helpful.
Initially when you drive into the hotel from the from it gives the impression of a "motel" but the staff and amenities quickly make you forget about that. The interior is decorated with old Irish paintings, furniture,wood burning stove and other furniture to match. The bar/restaurant has something available for almost any visitor.
We asked for a double room and we were given a double room with an additional double bed. This was a nice suprise as we had a bed to lie on and watch t.v and one to sleep in. The room itself is fairly basic with a t.v with streaming services, bathroom with toilet bath/shower. There's teabags,coffee,milk and a kettle in the room but there is no fridge or water provided for tea. We didn't risk using the tap water from the sink.
There's also an ironing board,iron and coat hangers (only 3 hangers in our room). There is no safe in the room.
The only issue we had with the room was it's temperature. It was very warm and we had to open the window all day to cool the room down.
Overall a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend.

28/10/2025: Stopped here at the hotel today to be told no food in hotel only pollys at side of hotel, so we went down to it after using hotel toilets which were spotless clean. Went to order stuff from staff to be told that’s a Sunday menu, was looking for 2portions of fries and 1portion of tenders, so that couldn’t be made, it seemed staff just didn’t want to be their at all. Ordered a blt I slice of lettuce took up quarter of the slice of bread bacon heated like what you would get in Burger King, when I was bringing the toasted ham and cheese sandwich back as it was cold I got mayo for BLT as that had no taste at all, soup was nice and shop brought brown bread. The only nice part was where you could sit. Sorry I won’t be back. Or recommending this place to anyone as I had to stop somewhere before I got home for more food after spending €22 plus tip at till
13/08/2025: The seating area is lovely, but the toasted sandwiches were such a disappointment. 6.20 for a ham and cheese toastie that had meagre fillings in it and the cheese wasn’t even melted or hot. A lick of relish or a bit of onion wouldn’t have gone astray. It was the same story for the “Dubliner cheese” sandwich too. 28 euro for 2 sandwiches, a sausage roll, Coke Zero and a kids smoothie.

25/07/2025: The pizza and chips are really good, it's a perfect balance of homemade and fast food, it doesn't feel like eating grease but it also doesn't feel too traditional, its the perfect treat!

Came In here once to escape the chills of winter, but with nice stools and counters to have your coffee or hot chocolate at, I've come back time and time again.
Great drinks at great prices with the woman who works here always coming across as kind and approachable.
19/11/2023: Excellent coffee in a shop packed with interesting wines and a great range of quality fancy foods. Lovely staff too.
