The best restaurants in Longford

12/03/2026: I went to this restaurant a few months ago while driving from the West to Belfast, and what a wonderful occasion it was. I got speaking to the family who ran the place and they essentially joined me for dinner. Cooked me a beautiful carbonara dinner and we had a brilliant time. I want to thank them all for the amazing reception, food and atmosphere. They made me feel one of them and I want to wish them the best of luck in getting it up and running over the next years. When I'm back in Lanesborough, I'll definitely be stopping in! Get in here and support this fantastic restaurant with a gorgeous dinner to match!

09/03/2026: The atmosphere is fabulous, Family run business, food is unreal and the service amazing, their eye for every detail, if you haven't got a chance to dine yet its a must you won't be disappointed, all their dishes are cooked to order so fresh & delicious. I definitely to going back soon.

07/12/2025: Stopped here on our way to Dublin for a Sunday roast. Helped by the manager, who was abrupt to the point of rudeness and generally unhelpful. Rest of the staff were friendly. Food was terrible, with tough meat, unseasoned sides, uncooked potatoes.

12/04/2026: Been for a private party: service was kind and attentive and the food was tasty. The restaurant was busy but relaxed and with a bright decor. Would recommend.

02/08/2025: A gorgeous little cafe with a beautiful aesthetic and funky atmosphere. The staff were lovely and friendly, serving delicious coffee and an array of amazing looking cakes and pastries. Stop in and grab a takeaway hot drink and treat, or take 5 and rest your feet. Highly recommended. But I was a bit confused about this location on maps and Mudshot cafe. Are you the same place??

13/12/2025: Absolutely amazing place for kids in primary to High school 🎒😁 to enjoy a range of activities from a PS4 to an Xbox 360 and it suite and pool with an Annex and fantasy roleplay games all things fun is here at Fuse Youth Cafe

02/04/2026: A joy to be back in Ballymahon after all these years and a joy to be in Skelly's. My grandfather brought me here in the 70s and even today, the bar still has a retro feel but with modern-day cool vibe which allows space for all demographics. Dog-friendly and people friendly. Allowing me memories of my grandfather sitting at the bar with his beloved Guinness right through to today where on entering, I felt nostalgic but welcome and comfortable. Love this pub and we will be staying overnight very soon.

27/03/2026: Main Street entrance in a lively, busy area with free parking available right outside. Features a large bar and dining space offering a wide variety of food and drinks. The room is clean, spacious, and includes an ensuite bathroom.

13/03/2026: Myself and my husband called in for lunch on our way to Mayo. We both ordered the open steak sandwich. It was beautiful. Not only did you get the open steak sandwich but fried peppers, onions and mushrooms, side salad, chips and a portion of pepper sauce. It was very well presented and didn’t disappoint in flavours and taste. Staff were very friendly. Both the ladies and gents toilets were absolutely spotless. Well done. We would highly recommend and great value as well.

23/10/2025: Great opening hours (7:00 AM - 6:00 PM), which is rare in Ireland. The staff is attentive, helpful, and friendly. Good coffee and sweets, cozy and warm. Very convenient location. Thank you!👍
