The best restaurants in Longford

01/06/2026: My wife, son & Myself visited today for the first time, after hearing brilliant reviews, & we were not disappointed. The level of professionalism we received from the moment we walked in the front door, was unbelievable. The food was STUNNINGLY beautiful, authentic Italian cuisine. I had the stuffed chicken, my wife had the beef escalope, & my son had the kids menu. The food was perfection. We will 100% be returning, on a regular. Highly recommend!

07/05/2026: Had a meal here today. It was excellent. Marina and Marco were fantastic hosts. The restaurant itself is modern and spotless. The food was beautifully presented and served quickly. I had the Tagliatelle in a creamy salmon sauce. I always worry that sometimes Italian food can be overwhelmed by a tomato based sauce but this was not. The tomato flavour was very subtle and did not murder the smoked salmon. My wife had the Sorrento salad and it was full of flavour. The calamari was cooked to perfection and did not feel like she was eating a rubber band. We decided to share the homemade Tiramisu. It is probably my favourite dessert and this was probably the best I have ever eaten. The coffee flavour was present but not it was not bitter. Overall a very enjoyable meal and we will definitely go back again.

08/05/2026: Lovely Irish Country Inn, really homely and traditional. Fantastic food, so tasty with nice little extra touches.... the food is only surpassed by the brilliantly tentative staff, they couldn't be any better! 👏👏 I have dined here twice and fully intend to return. ☺️

11/06/2026: We recently held our wedding reception at Frederick’s Restaurant in Islington on 19th May 2026, and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The venue itself provided the perfect setting for our special day, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. The food was truly out of this world – every dish was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and received so many compliments from our guests. A very special mention must go to Jason, who was exceptional on the day itself. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care helped make everything run seamlessly. Nothing was too much trouble, and he played a huge part in making our reception so memorable. The rest of the staff were equally wonderful – attentive, friendly, and incredibly hardworking. They ensured that both we and our guests felt looked after from the moment we arrived until the end of the evening. Thank you to Jason and the entire team for helping create such an unforgettable celebration. 03/06/2026: Whoever is running the place , thinks he/she is still in China. I'm not talking about the food , just how staff treats customers. They tell you where to sit , dirty sticky tables , then of course the only cash issue. Thanks a lot Mr Trump ;)

01/05/2025: Incredible atmosphere! The crowd kept changing throughout the night, so you know it's a favourite stop on anyone's night out!

06/06/2026: Called in here passing through Ballymahon and it didn’t disappoint. We spoke to the owner’s son who was really friendly and let us order off the dinner menu early so we could try their steak. I had the ribeye and it was top notch, excellent quality and cooked perfectly. The whole dish was great, and the Guinness was right up there too. Highly recommend.

29/05/2026: Great option if you are on holidays in Centerparcs and fancy some real food, 5 minutes from the forest, great steaks, good kids menu and overall just a friendly place.
