The best restaurants in Drogheda

01/12/2025: It used to be good, had the best chips, but they've gone downhill. The garlic sauce and pizza are good though, although dont get chicken on it because it tastes so stale and dry. Same with the beef, unfortunately the beef has been consistently tasting like fish, either poor quality or not handled well, maybe used close to expiration date. I used to love Roma, I hope they take the reviews on board and work on the quality

16/10/2025: Placed an order here and was called by the restaurant 20 minutes after placing my order telling me the delivery charge was an extra 5 euro on top of the 4 euro I’d paid on Just Eat. When I said I wasn’t paying it, they cancelled my order. It’s not worth it, avoid!

12/10/2025: Stumbled on this place in our travels, BEST Indian food. Before writing this review I read some very negative reviews, all for delivery (something going on there). I can only suggest, for people who love Indian food, to dine AT this restaurant as we did. We sat downatairs. Owner was pleasant throughout, patient and friendly, attentive. Garlic Naan was delicious and HUGE - one order would have been enough for two people. Side of Raita amazing, chunks of cool cucumber, amazing spices. Delicious trio of sauces/chutneys. Main courses we went with classics, not dissapointed: Chicken Tika Masala & Saag Paneer. Not typical, BETTER! Cost very reasonable.

07/10/2025: Local star, local shame. The man behind the desk looked like Kimbo Slice, I ordered some chicken and it was pink raw. I will not be going back here. As the foran family motto states: Yup Oovit

27/09/2025: The management is disgraceful here, we rang up about our food being pink after we ate half and asked for a refund. the manager then came to our house to check the chicken out for himself. He proceeded to scream in my dads face and got up in ours saying that 18 year olds don’t have common sense when it comes to knowing if chicken is cooked, he then left and came back and abused us the next time around too. He asked for the bag of food back and rang us to tell us that we weren’t getting a refund because half of the food was missing. And said that the chicken is also good to eat when it was clearly pink, I have worked in the food industry around chicken and know when chicken is raw!! The manager is a liar. He said we would get our refund on the phone and in person first time around , but when he rings again after he has the food he proceeds to tell us we’re not getting it anymore !!! This is disgraceful and will not eat from here again!!!

20/10/2025: Well, the fish was nice and yummy, the chips were a different story, ice cold, turned to dust in me mouth. The milkshake was the best thing I have ever tasted

09/10/2025: I ordered a kebab pizza with extra chicken and no lettuce or onions. The kebab pizza I received wasn't hot, it didn't have the chicken that I paid for, and it had onions that I requested not to have. The kebab pizza is also meant to come with garlic and chilli sauce but the pizza I received had no garlic or chilli but it was covered all over in taco sauce which makes no sense. They have form for getting orders wrong but I'm struggling to understand how it's possible to get this order so wrong. The other food in the order was also not hot. If I could give zero stars I would. This place is forever getting orders wrong. It's either seriously seriously incompetent staff that should be trained further or let go; or its a complete lack of care or respect towards customers that is prevalent across the whole takeaway. Macari Xtra is the worst Macari branded takeaway in Drogheda AVOID this place.
