The best restaurants in Drogheda

15/07/2025: The D Hotel is closed to tourists until 2027. It is being used as a Refugee Reception Centre until then.

04/07/2025: Hotel told us us they cater to vegans, so I booked a two day stay. This was 3 weeks in advance. On arrival we were told the kitchen had been asked to cater to vegans in advance. Next morning, went to breakfast and we were told that all the chef could offer us a a salad as "everything is cooked in butter." What about the claim the hotel caters to vegans? What about the promises on our arrival the day before? This was like something from 20 years ago, not 2022. On top of that, the room was punishingly warm, and this self-described "luxury hotel" had no air conditioning. They gave us a fan which made noise like a prop plane at take-off. Though it was less noisy than the club/bar downstairs. So we didn't really sleep. Then, to make matters worse, there was no hot water in the mornings to shower. When all these issues were raised at reception, it was met with a shrug and a perfunctory apology. No money back, no efforts to solve the issues with the kitchen, nothing. Then, as a final insult, when they sent me the bill, they addressed me as the wrong gender. This would never usually bother me but after everything else, it seemed like a calculated attempt to insult... Terrible experience.

14/04/2025: Over 2hrs was told food left shop 5mins ago shown up 45mins later cold and dry

02/07/2025: Good chipper, No major complaints, staff are sound enough. Portion sizes are shrinking in size.

22/05/2025: Worst kebab I ever had. The chicken was fried chicken and lamb was not fresh. Above this the potion was a joke. Never again.

16/07/2025: We were so hungry and placed a takeaway order. I ordered daal makhni and to my surprise it turned out to be a pathetic Daal Takda (Yellow Daal). Highly recommended to avoid this place ever

09/03/2025: This place is an absolute joke. We waited an hour and a half for our food, and when it arrived, it was completely undercooked. The spices were raw and uncooked. On top of that, the service was nonexistent, with zero hospitality or care for customers. Easily one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. Total waste of time and money

26/05/2025: This is the most incompetent Subway I’ve ever seen in my life. They frequently run out of ingredients, close the dining area two hours early, and it’s always filthy — both the dining area and the fridge. You can clearly see the carelessness and lack of professionalism from the staff. I do not recommend it.

30/04/2025: We have visited this place 5 times in 8 months and they never had the ingredients we were looking for. You'd think that once or twice they would be out of stock but on all occasions like, that's just bad service on all levels.
