The best restaurants in Drogheda

11/10/2025: Not sure what gas changed, but the chips are not what they used to be. Had been coming here for years but not anymore. The last time the chips were swimming in grease and this time I don't even know what went wrong, but the chips were soggy, greasy and had to go in the bin. So dissatisfied and won't be going back.

08/10/2025: Not what it used to be. Portions are smaller, servers aren't welcoming, and the cooks in particular, give an atmosphere of anger and money

05/07/2025: The place has a lot of potential beside the river with a nice beer garden but is let down by the food. Bad • cocktails are really bad, whiskey sour tasted like whiskey and soda water, passionfruit martini tasted like a strong mi wadi. • steak we asked for it rare and it came out well done and chewie • speakers not working in beer garden making the place lack atmosphere. Good • good service and they gave 2 free drinks after we said the streak was not good. • combo platter was above average. • we both went to birra moretti after the bad cocktails and they where really nice.

21/09/2025: Editing my review as honestly the wait has become ridiculous. It takes more than 1hour to get it delivered and we tried to collect it, the website said 30min with an exact time and it was another 20min waiting in the restaurant…. It’s not good enough especially for the price. We won’t order again.

03/12/2025: Don't bother get delivery from them, unless you don't mind getting surprises :) You'll never know what you will get. They already got my order wrong more than 2 times. Missing drinks, missing items or wrong items, plus cold and squashed food.

07/11/2025: Reliable and always have good food! I ordered to collect and it was ready on time! I use the online portal which is quick and easy. The food never fails to deliver. I moved to Monaghan and went back to Woks for a takeaway when I was back down in Drogheda!!!

22/10/2025: Yuck....my curry was full of oil.... Disgusting food, went straight to the bin.

02/11/2025: Absolute dirt. Chips definitely not freshly cooked. Chicken so dry and tasteless. Never again!

25/10/2025: I used to love domonics, not so much anymore. Last few times I've been, always some kind of issue. I can overlook something like a small mix up in an order or something else that can easily rectified at the till. I draw the line at uncooked food however. I got a batter burger recently (not been back since) and when I bit into it, the grease that oozed from it immediately congealed on my finger. It looked like candlewax. The burger itself? It was warm, but certainly not hot. I was ill for two days. I dunno what happened to Dominics, but they've lost their way. I'd drive from North Co Dublin into drogheda just to get food from them, that's how good they were. I hope the owners look at all these comments and shake the place up a bit. If they were great before then they could be great again.

30/11/2025: Food was great for my daughter, brought food and drinks over very promptly. Was very scarce inside but, was a Sunday night.

09/11/2025: We had our son baptize party at weavers this weekend at their private room and it was lovely!! Louise and Gabi made sure everything was up to the best standards and everyone had the best time!!

11/11/2025: I tried kebab over there. Waiting in the queue observing woman touching paying portal many things after and then with ber hands preparing food touching meet after her hands where god knows where. Meat very low quality with a bit of taste and aroma of old mop. Bit of lettuce with tomato sos from Lidl or Aldi for spaghetti. Absolute disaster. How people can eat that? 😅😅😅

29/09/2025: The new staff is really sloppy with service. Can't even wrap the kebab properly and serve them in torn bread half the time. Bring back the old staff!

19/11/2025: the chicken in the spice bag is hard and impossible to chew, the sweet and sour sauce is too sweet

19/10/2025: The food is grand, but nothing special. Naan bread was a bit disciplining, portions are not big and overpriced

29/08/2025: Standards have dropped dramatically. Was a regular visitor to this hotel and would visit 2-3 times a year and brought family and friend regularly. My last two stays I have to say were terrible. We went as 2 adults and 2 children. First time people smoking in the rooms with the doors open I reported it and nothing happened the same the next night and was told its probably coming in from the balcony. People shouting and banging all hours of the morning and again nothing done. The quality of breakfast is probably a 3 at best where it was always 9-10 and then I was charged an extra €2 for a cappuccino at breakfast (never seen that before ANYWHERE). spoke to the waitress and was told there's a new chef and it's just been brought in.Got in touch with the hotel afterwards to complain and got 3 different people to email. Eventually the manager got in touch much with me and apologised and offered me a deal to return and to just contact him that he wants to prove it was a once off.. When I did eventually contact him for a return for 2 adults 2 children and returned it started on check in. First room we were giving was one double bed 1 single bed ,I went back to reception and giving another room and again it was 1 double one single. I went again to reception to ask was this a joke. The girl gave me keys to another room and told me to check the room first to see if it was okay. The room was downstairs and didn't feel like part of the hotel. There was plenty of beds but the double bed mattress was wafer thin and very uncomfortable. I rang reception and the other lady came and brought me to another room 512 and asked was it okay. It looked good and had the double and 2 single beds as required. The lady apologised and was very helpful. When my son sat on his bed he nearly fell off it as the base was broken, again I called reception and the lady came back and seen the bed and again apologised and went and got a base off another bed. We just accepted it as we Had Been through 4 rooms already at this stage. First morning breakfast was okay and fresh but the next morning we were waiting on bits to come out from the kitchen then got burnt breakfast and was served our milk in a teacup with not even an apology. I reported all this to the manager by email when we got home and his response was. ,thank you for your feedback.. So if that's the general managers response it says it all. Cannot see myself returning here anytime soon and can not recommend this hotel to family or friends.... Just seen this hotel is now up for sale so that explains why the management couldn't care less....

15/07/2025: The D Hotel is closed to tourists until 2027. It is being used as a Refugee Reception Centre until then.

04/11/2025: Portion sizes very small for sides, paid 10.99 for the food in the picture below. Service not the best as I was left standing for 15 minutes before someone attended me. Chips are very dry.

04/10/2025: Ordered 2 pizzas for collection. App said would be 25-30 mins, after 30 mins app said my order was still in prep, after 40 mins I go to store and the little girl working there just looks at me and says it will be 10-15 mins. I get if you are busy that things get delayed but have the common courtesy to acknowledge the inconvenience and apologise for the delay. Then when the pizzas were finally ready the little girl continues to take new orders and continue to delay me as I had now been waiting around an hour
