The best restaurants in Drogheda

17/03/2024: We have driven by this place on Numerous occasions but this week we decided to call in and OMG it was Fab. Service first class and the food fantastic I got a garlic mushroom plate this tasted fab and the pizza 1st class as well my kids and better half loved her food which was a chicken and pepper skewers and 2nd a slimmers pasta. Overall as family meal location it was up around the high 90tys. Definitely will be returning soon 👍

16/01/2024: It is a lovely restaurant, it's been in drogheda for as long as I can remember. It just lacks atmosphere. During my meal before Xmas, my eyes started to run, and my throat got a bit caught up, i think it was fumes from the kitchen, then they switched the air-conditioning unit on to clear the air. The staff is great, very friendly and the food is good.

28/02/2024: Nice old style pub. Good food and reasonable prices for food and drink.

04/04/2024: Portion size was tiny, we thought it was a children's fish and chip dinner we got, as other plates were sooooo much bigger, and the profiteroles were semi frozen

01/04/2024: Honestly wouldn't be in a rush to go back, roast lamb served with a steak knife was a red flag, tough and dry, asked for more gravy by the time I got it my food was cold. For the price we paid expected better.

11/12/2023: After years in Ireland, finally found a place for a proper Italian pizza. Domino's, Apache and similar places just didn't do it for me. This lads know their job. 👍

06/03/2024: Ordered a 14 inch pepperoni and when I opened the box when I got home saw there was only 3 pieces of pepperoni on each slice which is way too little for a 14 inch pizza. Papa John's is normally good for pizza but not the Drogheda branch. Will be going to Mazaar or Apache in future.

27/04/2024: The processed ham in the calzone makes it inedible, it’s a really low grade frozen pizza ingredient and doesn’t belong in a restaurant. Little pink squishy match shaped things that taste of nothing, they just look awful, like maggots. Dough and other ingredients were lovely. Charge me an extra €2 for better ham if you have to. Took a star off for the wine, I’d prefer to pay 30 for something that costs 11 than 25 for something that costs 6 (half that for bulk). Cutting corners on ingredients and wine when there’s really no need.

07/05/2024: The food I thought was nice enough. The young one had aromatic duck and loved it however my partner wasn't to fond of what she ordered. Would go back again to try other dishes

09/04/2024: Best Chinese in Drogheda. Fast delivery, really easy to deal with the staff. Always friendly. I would recommend everyone to get your hands on a noodle box you'll be glad you did and you will be amazed. Keep up the good service guys

02/02/2024: Not at all what they used to be, food has gone down hill and you can never be sure what it’s going to taste like, salt and pepper chips were soggy with little seasoning and the noodles were like crisps, hard and dry, not happy at all

02/03/2024: The most unpalatable food I've ever had. We went in this evening after seeing the number of stars and didn't finish anything we ordered. Just an amazingly unflavorful place. More flour than eggs in the omelet, absolutely flavorless combination of simplest ingredients. Real worst kebab with unpalatable ketchup and mayo. Of the chips, we ate one bite each and decided not to eat any further. The coffee is not brewed, instant, although there is a coffee machine. My partner said it was the worst place she had ever been to.

08/03/2024: I agree with the shrinkflation review on here go to Shanghai Laytown and you will see a way bigger spice box same price and bigger sauce. Bad enough you kept putting the price up but reducing the box quantity and now adding a Smaller curry sauce and putting it inside the box to further reduce the food, now I see only 3 chicken balls not 4. Its just mean not good business. You have got too cocky, such a pity as the staff are nice and food is not too bad.

18/02/2024: The starters were dry and tasteless..the penang was ok..the kaprow was inedible it was steaming straight from a microwave..we couldn't eat it at all, spoke to the manager and he was unhelpful and dismissed the complaint, as loyal customers who have eaten here for years..we won't be eating here again! When we realized there was mushrooms in the Penang we were grateful you agreed to give a new one, surprisingly it was cooked in 4 mins..the kraprow was still steaming after 15 mins on the table the chicken in it was like rubber. I do realize we were the last customers of the night. Yes I did step outside the door and realized that I left my bottle of wine behind..and was given another one. I myself never leave a bad review but on this occasion I did..no one came to check on us to see if everything was ok with the food..we got to the counter to pay and we said it then..the reaction from yourself was that you never get complaints about the food and that was it..it was inedible it wasn't touched at all. I'm sure you saw when you cleared the table that we left the starters uneaten and the kaprow untouched. To pay 56 euro for food that was barely touched is unacceptable and to try and shame and embarrass me about the bottle of wine is a low blow from your end.

18/02/2024: Made our first visit to Soi40 this weekend. We were really impressed with the fast friendly service. Food was served up in no time, piping hot in generous portion sizes. I think this will become a regular go-to spot for tatsy Thai food

04/02/2024: ordered at 6:33, it had been an hour and a half, so i called to ask where my food was. i understand nights can be busy, especially waiting for drivers, but i had never waited that long for takeout from here, especially because i live directly across the street. wife is type1 diabetic, had to treat her for hypoglycemia because we've never had food take over an hour to arrive. when i rang at the 1:30 mark, i was told the machine was broken, so they had only received my order. asked if i wanted to just cancel it, i said i would wait. no apology or anything. food came 20-30 mins later, missing one of my items. i rang back and was just going to ask for a refund on it, but they said it was ready and the driver had just forgotten, so not wanting to waste food i said alright to it being delivered. another full hour. it took another full hour to bring 1 item of already cooked food across the street. still no apology on the item being missing or anything. food quality was not worth all that. we won't be ordering from here for a long time.

02/12/2023: I have been a regular customer with Nikkos.l have dined in twice.l regularly order for delivery.The staff are amazing,the food is excellent,especially Avocado salad,Cream cheese and Salmon Sushi Rolls.From a delivery standpoint l have found them to be taking less time than b4.lt is well worth the wait be it sit down( this is why l plan by going a little earlier when a booking is made).As l said l mostly get delivery due to my health.I always make a point to say Thanx to staff and Masterchef,as particularly with items like Sushi,are a little time consuming to make.l am sorry to hear that some peoplehave had bad experiences.Yes it can be disappointing.Although l never had problem with service on any level,perhaps( and l am sure people are anxious to eat and do so quickly to ENJOY.)Sometimes a little positive feedback in any area of a bad experience can result in waitresses feeling less stress and a bad experience can quickly turn around in customers favour.Every time l order a dish now,there is always a little extra Avocado,salmon nicely presented with much thought or an act of kindness like free fruit tea as an attempt to make experience better.Personally for me,by exercising patience it's all turned out great.l do not wish to diminish any unsavoury experiences a customer has had.l respect their opinions,but knowing this is a service for Customers,paying customers it is important we make efforts to understand how hard staff do really work and also many times l suspect,understaffed. Thankfully l have been very lucky.Please try again to visit Nikkos or order from home.lf not happy tell them.lf it is a first visit to Nikkos,one visit can't predict future experiences.I say this with full respect.I would like to say,everyone in Nikkos has been wonderful and serves great food.Have a wonderful day.MM.
