Facilities also very clean and well kept, really nice atmosphere.
On my second visit, I had the Chicken Dry Hot & Spicy -€17.90, would certainly recommend 🙂

But always have lovely nice fresh food here

The Barony Restaurant at the Talbot Hotel

09/09/2024: We stayed in the Talbot Hotel for six nights at the start of September 2024. It was a very enjoyable experience, the hotel is lovely, clean and serves great food. It is in a great location, using it as our base we got to see the Ceide Fields, Nephin Nature Park, Achill Island, Westport and Cong, among others. Most of all we would like to say a big thank you to staff members, Emma who welcomed us at check-in and who, within minutes of being told of my feather pillow allergy, sorted us with alternative pillows and quilt, Kirsty who always had a smile for us at breakfast and thanks also to Katie who made a point of fixing the security safe in the bedroom when we couldn't get it to work. Many thanks. Would definitely recommend and if ever in that neck of the woods would definitely stay there again.

22/08/2024: I got the chicken & waffles with toasted potatoes. It is the best I've ever had. The waitresses were nice and the service was fast.
20/07/2024: Absolutely amazing food, great service, varied menu and lovely coffee. Would recommend the salt and chilli bowl and the pancakes. 100% would recommend to stop by for brunch if passing !

21/08/2024: Ate here with husband and two kids, kids enjoyed food but rice with the chicken dry hot was raw, couldn’t eat it at all. Service was incredibly slow. Vol au vents were tasty but chicken dry hot and spicy was disappointing. Charged full price for the inedible rice. Won’t be returning.

21/09/2024: Food and service was amazing . Everything was so fresh and full of flavour . We ate early evening. We were a group of 4 and shared some starters and had a main course each . Great portion sizes . Great night .
29/08/2024: Yum yum. In fairness, I was hungry, which is a great sauce, but I thoroughly enjoyed my takeaway. Had a double starter of salt and pepper prawns and crispy chicken dumplings, followed by sweet and sour pork and chips. Everything was delish, and well portioned. Dumplings were crispy, generously filled, and sauce was tastily complementary... done just how I like. Prawns were nicely battered (crumbed?) and seasoned and had fresh crisp salad on side. Pork was nicely battered and the veg accompaniment was well portioned, I had the perfect amount of sauce, veg and pineapple. Chips were nice and crispy as requested. Couldn't fault it. Was a very hungry person and am now satisfactorily replete having enjoyed the perfect balance of taste, texture and portion. Not always guaranteed with a Chinese, 5-stars well deserved. Thank you!
