The best restaurants in Navan (an uaimh)

28/04/2025: Ordered chilli cheese chips. Got chips drowned in sweet chilli dip. Can’t get it resolved as ordered on just eat. What a major disappointment

07/11/2024: Was staying at the Ardboyne hotel but couldn’t get the United game on. Messaged this pub to see if they was playing the game and they got back to me straight away. Glad I came down, Mick & Tara looked after me and the wife, great characters in the pub and great drink offers. Highly recommend 👍

23/05/2025: Very poor service here lately. Hot food was warm . Chicken was rubbery . Coffee had a burnt taste from it . No utensils available so when we asked for some staff pointed us to area where they are stored we said there was none there and they went and checked then gave us what we asked for . Nobody finished their food or coffee. Definitely gone down hill . Won't be dropping by any time soon .

19/04/2025: Takes too long to serve food / wasn't busy at all

25/03/2025: First time I came here the female teller jimped me out of €20 or €30 by giving me the wrong change. Upon realizing her “mistake” I immediately returned and she gave me the money back with a side serving of feigned innocence. Second time here I ordered the standard fish and chips. Inside the box was a long stringy chewy item instead of a filet of fish. The chips themselves were bland. The menu itself lacks any variety and the prices are way over the top. Navan deserves better than this. Also note the atmosphere when you walk in. The workers have a sullen, un-engaging and unfriendly attitude. I will not be returning.

02/12/2024: Had food a good a few times , seem to argue amongst themselves , food is average, order not correct also , best of luck and won't be back !

10/01/2025: My self and my daughter drove to the Costa in Johnstown for a nice hot chocolate unfortunately as soon as we went in 10 minutes before closing,girl behind the counter said ,we are closed even though there was still 10minutes left before closing and the hot chocolate would've only taken 2 minutes.

06/05/2025: three times I've had my order cancelled on Uber Eats and once told to order direct, then it's cancelled just before closing, just annoying.

25/02/2025: 0 Stars from Me Ordered food at 21:14, hadn't arrived by 22:23 so we called and were told it was going to be another 30 mins. Person on the phone was very Rude with us and then put someone else on the phone who was even more rude and hung up on my husband.. We had to cancel and ask for a refund which they said would take 3-5 working days. We are now left at 22:43 with no food. Very rude and unprofessional customer service. No apologies or gesture of good will offered. I’m also keeping this as proof as they haven’t cancelled our order on the app yet and I want to ensure I get my refund in 3-5 working days!!

06/05/2025: Tried Gem few times now and was very pleased with the experience overall. We ordered the Cantonese duck, sweet and sour chicken, and Szechuan chicken, all of which were cooked well and tasted great. The egg fried rice was also a highlight, nicely done and complemented the mains well. Portion sizes were good, with each meal more than enough to leave you full and satisfied. Definitely good value for money considering the portion to price ratio. Service was quick and efficient, no long waits for pick-up, which was appreciated. That said, it’s worth noting they only accept cash, which can be a bit inconvenient. Also, the chips were slightly on the dry side, and it would be really helpful if they had a proper website for browsing the menu or placing orders more easily and the interior could be a bit more welcoming mayhaps with more lighting when it's dark. All in all, a solid local takeaway with tasty food and good service.

25/04/2025: Non stop stressful music, not enjoyable at all

24/04/2025: The fries are usually soft and soggy with oil, nuggets are pretty chewy but delicious and the burgers are alright. I wouldn't really say to go out of your way, because the atmosphere here is loaded with screaming and yelping. I'd suggest take away or delivery, or just dine somewhere else.

12/08/2024: Someone fro Mizzoni's came to our house and yelled at us for giving the restaurant a bad review for a pasta dish we never ordered. We have not ordered ANYTHING from Mizzonis in 5 years, ever since we had a realy bad pizza from them.

11/04/2025: Went here a few years ago and the food was always great but went in recently to order takeaway and the woman behind the counter was so rude I left without even ordering. Asked for a spice bag with tofu instead of chicken and she just scowled at me like I had 5 heads. Shame
