The best restaurants in Slane

12/04/2025: We stopped for lunch after a walk and couldn't believe the food. Highly recommend!

31/03/2025: Disappointing visit this time, arrived on time for 6:45pm booking 7 of us waited a good 20mins awkwardly in doorways for table to be ready. Seated in separate room upstairs with 2 other tables. I think this was a big part of our experience as the waitress while polite was servicing the 3 tables mostly on her own so in/out a lot of the time and no one else to ask for help when needed. Atmosphere not great in this room and extremely stuffy ( windows didn’t open). Ordered drinks, then told no ingredients for 2 cocktails and no Heineken so ordered alternatives. Took a good 15/20 mins for them to arrive was told bar was busy then 1 drink short had to remind again after another 10 mins as it still hadn’t arrived. No offer of water for the table. Again eventually got some. Starters came, 1 starter short eventually waitress was back in the room to let her know, the rest of us began eating as our food was getting cold. Last starter arrived as the rest of us finished. The food was excellent but the Plates cleared while last guest still eating! Mains arrived, Ordered another round of drinks short a vegetable side reminded waitress and asked for mustard eventually came when we were finished eating with the veg and a bowl of mushrooms instead of mustard (an easy mistake I suppose) anyhow food was great. But again took forever for the drinks to arrive we had finished eating and I ended up cancelling mine. We Didn’t opt for deserts as it was getting late at this stage and we were all hot in the small room. Overall food good but service hit/miss and would rather be in the main section of restaurant. This Room only suitable for private group or with more staff. Never asked once how everything was. No toilet paper in the double dispenser in the one working ladies at the start and end of our 2 1/2 hours there. Shame we were all disappointed considering the food is good

02/03/2025: They don’t really know how to make croissants 🥐 whenever I think of a croissant (coming from Spain) is that buttery flakey pastry that is sweet and melts in your mouth. Whatever I had in there was some thick dry bread tasting feeling thing. It should not be called a croissant. It may have a similar shape to it but that’s about it. It was dry and horrible. Overpriced as well.

28/02/2025: The best French Toast you will ever....ever have. This is an absolute gem. We'd drive out of our way to come here the next time we visit Ireland. Perfect place to start the day.

28/03/2025: Wonderfully situated chipper. Great selection and deals on menu. Food is piping hot and fresh. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food served with a smile! Has a table and chairs inside along with benches outside to sit and enjoy the amazing food.

19/03/2025: Excellent outlet, having ordered few times quantity and quality is well good, comparing the same with Blanchardstown outlet. I drive down here, only because of generous portion. Usually ordering through their app, well directed. Recommended👍 Baconero chips 🌟& Deluxe kebab⭐️

19/04/2025: 1st time went there and last time...waitress was rude from begining..food for lunch was terrible...i had steak sandwich,the meat was gone off and oily...bolognese was so bad..overcooked pasta mince was old and bad salty.. pieces of veg too big no tomato souce anywhere..my stomach got sick...ill rather eat grass in the field then go back there...

18/04/2025: Got married here and we stayed in the boyne house. Boyne house was unreal, rooms are massive and beds are really comfortable. Huge dining area where we had food brought over by the hotel. Food was so nice and the service was brilliant. Day of the wedding the hotel staff were unbelievable, from the floor staff to the bar staff. Special shout out to the unbelievable Tracy who was so helpful throughout. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a venue for a wedding. You will be in great hands with Tracy.
