The best restaurants in Monaghan

17/11/2024: Came here for coffee and a pastry and left with a smile. Three thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.

27/09/2024: Asked for a single origin which was in the menu. The staff didn’t seem to know how to sell a single origin. They looked at each other and were talking. Nobody seemed to know how to make it or charge for it. In the end I just told them to do a normal Americano. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant which was freezing cold and tasted like it had been there for a few days. It was quite stale and tasteless. Still the best coffee in Monaghan.

03/12/2024: I stopped at this hotel for food and I must say it was fantastic. There's a great selection sandwiches, salads and hot food offerings

01/12/2024: Great time was had myself and husband on an overnight break before the madness of christmas. Lovely staff and a wonderful personal recognition from the receptionist made our stay so warming a home from home. Bed was superb warm room and great shower what's not to like hopefully we will be back soon thank you all so much

05/12/2024: The service is great, check in was smooth. I was not impressed with the rooms, it seemed outdated but with a modern toilet. There was a sulfur smell coming from the toilet without a lid. Bed was very comfortable and the room looked OK. The lift is really slow. The atomsphere of the bar and entry way is very nice. The location is close by the town by car and there was a vast parking area in the back. The food was lovely.

09/09/2024: Excellent selection, delicious food, and warm, friendly service. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are fair—no signs of shrinkflation or price gouging here. The kebab is top class, absolutely A+!

03/07/2024: I don't think my vocabulary is big enough to describe how sad of a burger I had in Apple Green. I felt like it had still been cooking there since covid times. Better to eat nothing than the burger.

21/10/2024: Food couldn’t of been faulted, but service was not up to standard as in my opinion as a group we where very polite and mannerly as always, while a waitress was sharp and condescending, this is the first time we have ate out as a group and not left a tip. We picked this place because of its good reviews from people we know, it didn’t meet our expectations.

13/11/2024: I am an international exchange student. I came to Dinkin's bakery for an internship during a school activity. This experience was very bad. I had to do a lot of work while other employees could rest. When I finished all the work, the boss just came downstairs. When he saw me taking a rest, He told my supervisor that I should do something, but I had already done a lot of things. They didn’t say a word of thanks when I left, because of that I never went back to the store again. This was the worst experience I had as an exchange student.😃🤡 I have also worked in other restaurants, and I am still very busy, but all the work will not be done by one person. This is the point. It is not because I want to play with my mobile phone. Please clarify.

13/11/2024: I just saw the latest review. The student had a negative experience, and I don’t understand why you are placing the blame on them, especially when you didn’t even offer any thanks. This approach is unprofessional and unethical. It may discourage future students from coming to Monaghan.

14/12/2024: everytime i eat here i get really bad food poisoning. i found a toenail in my big mac and when i complained to the manager he threw a mop bucket at my head and told me to go eat at kfc instead :( 0/5

20/10/2024: I like eating here. Good food! We went out on Saturday night last. Good crowd and atmosphere. Food Good as usual. The problem on this occasion was: One head woman was taken orders, serving food and drink, cleaning tablets, basically doing everything. There were a few other staff on the floor, but not helping or in our opinion, doing enough to help this floor manager! She was over worked! Looked stressful. We were waiting too long for coffee & desert. Who ever the owner/Manager is, needs to address this issue as this will do harm going forward. Get this sorted and you will be the best restaurant in Monaghan! P.S ( Work on your specialty Coffees. Irish/ french etc. I love my irish Coffees but I tend to head to Andy's for this.
