The best restaurants in Monaghan

27/03/2024: Dance floor very small, ceiling very low.

21/03/2024: Nice decor, friendly staff, an old hotel with character. Reception staff are very friendly and accommodating unfortunately the same cannot be said for the waiting staff at breakfast time. One who is Irish looked like she had the weight of the world on the shoulders and on the verge of tears. The other, a foreign national of Latino descent, perhaps Portuguese or Brazilian also had a sour demeanor, a face on her like a bulldog chewing a wasp, and would growl almost when asking for anything. As you can see from the picture the breakfast is a meagre affair. I had to ask for an extra tea bag for my pot, us Irish like strong tea not Earl Grey kind. I also had to ask for another bacon (only 1 served) and beans, each time my request was greeted with a growl and rolling eyes. I abstained from asking for toast for fear of the growl turning into a bite. A sorry end to a lovely stay unfortunately.

21/02/2024: I was in Andy's for the first time last night with a friend. We both had steak and both were made absolutely perfectly. The sauces were also amazing. I want to mention a special thank you for Shannon, who was so warm, friendly and kind. I will absolutely return here!

15/02/2024: Stayed in Monaghan for the night went down to Andy's for dinner have to say what a lovely worm friendly place staff were brilliant great service and best food we have got in a long time. Nothing bad to say about this pub it's a must

15/09/2023: Called it and the owner David seen me reading the menu. I didn't know but they didn't open until 4pm, I called at 3.30. He opened the door and invited me in and didn't even tell me they weren't open LOL. Got a mushroom and ham pizza with garlic bread with mushroom! It was lovely, All fresh made in front of you. A real family run pizza business... I'll be back any time I go through Monaghan town, after 4pm of course..

23/02/2024: Not from the area was staying in a local hotel seen great reviews on Google so we went for dinner. Lovely friendly staff. Nice clean restaurant and toilets. Food was out really quickly and no mistakes. The food was lovely we got prawn toast, salt and chilli chicken, and skewered chicken satay for starters and beef curry and pork ramen for mains food was absolutely gorgeous really nice. Would highly recommend mag.

17/02/2024: We arrived quite late but the staff were super friendly. Fantastic food. Nice soup. We ordered chicken tomato pesto on cranberry wheaten bread, came with salad and slaw. Recommended

05/09/2023: Came over for the Harvest Time blues festival. Canadian blues rocker Anthony Gomes and his band hosted a great jam here. Great atmosphere and service. And such a friendly town.
