21/01/2026: Where do I begin?! From the very instant we drove onto the ferry, we knew we had found our wedding venue. What we didn't know, was how incredibly helpful, professional and outstandingly organised Gillian and the team are at Waterford Castle. Nothing online does the place justice. We had our wedding here on Jan 2nd of this year and Gillian couldn't have done enough for us as wedding coordinator leading up to the day. The day itself, including the rehearsal dinner the night before, couldn't have gone better and it's all down to what a fantastic venue Waterford Castle is, and how outrageously hospitable the staff are there. The whole day felt like a fairytale and it's 100% down to how smoothly everything ran. If there were any issues, we didn't know about them as I'm certain Gillian ensured that she dealt with everything without causing us any stress. I don't have enough words for how highly I recommend Waterford Castle - every guest was raving about how incredible the food was and just how beautiful the venue itself is. We will hold a special place in our hearts for Waterford Castle and its staff forevermore. Photographs by the amazing Wilma Towell Photography - had to include some to show the venue off!

21/01/2026: Right on the sea. Great friendly staff.. Had 3 dogs with me and they didn't bat an eyelid..
07/11/2025: Beautiful food, quick service everything cooked fresh and different special menus every friday night as well as the bar menu. Prawns pil pil were so tasty.
Friendly staff so helpful and chatty.

15/02/2026: Like previous reviews the staff seem to let this place down. Attempted to order takeaway food at 8:32pm to be told they are closed at 8:30pm. This was despite the door being wide open and Google advising closing time was 9pm. Blank stares and shoulder shrugs from male staff member who'd rather have been on the moon by the looks of it. Avoid
05/02/2026: Overall not a bad spot for a bite to eat when in Ardmore.
The Smash Burger 🍔 was unreal. Very tasty and plenty of it. Only negative is that chips are not included which is rare to see for a burger. But a seriously tasty meal.
The Ballycotton Catch of the Day was "okay" Chips were fine but the bread on the fish was quite heavy and took away from the fish. The sauce was delicious but the mushy peas weren't the best. So not bad but could be great with a few tweaks.
Coffees were fine, couldn't say anything bad about them so all good.
The service though was fairly bad. Arrived in and sat at a table, the waitress saw us but said nothing.
After a while walks past us to go outside and then asks if we are okay. I ask for a food menu please and was told I can go get one from the till area.
Not the friendliest encounter and felt kind of weird. So I walked over and the second waitress who was very pleasant handed me a menu from behind the counter and I ordered and paid with her so was all good.
Probably wouldn't go back as it's not normal to feel unwelcome when spending money in a restaurant.
