06/02/2025: Literally the first pub i walked in to after getting off the plane, and they had a guy playing country music! (And some Oasis & others). Tried a great new beer too, "Beamish". Think I'm gonna like it here.

08/02/2025: We had a reservation for 18:30 and arrived a bit early. The upstairs bartender immediately told us—without even checking our names—that our table wasn’t ready. No problem; we took a short walk and returned on time, only to be told again that our table still wasn’t ready. It was finally ready at 18:45, which was frustrating since we were on a schedule. What made it worse was seeing the bar downstairs nearly empty, with most tables unoccupied. That said, the cocktails were excellent, and the service downstairs was great.

02/02/2025: I've been to The Quays several times and enjoyed it every time. The food is tasty, I love the warm/family atmosphere there and the staff has always been super friendly. Special thanks to the bartender who went the extra mile last time I was there (Stag Rua).

07/01/2025: Stayed here twice this year. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Showers had great water pressure. Anne and Brendan were great hosts. The bar downstairs is great. They serve a good pint. This is a fine location to walk into Midleton for great food. A nice walk to the distillery as well. We will be back again.

03/10/2024: Siamo stati in questo locale a prendere un irish coffee (buonissimo) e le torte fatte in casa. Il posto é immerso in un’atmosfera magica, strana, insolita. Il proprietario ha anche scambiato con noi qualche parola in italiano e anche se in un primo momento può sembrare un po’ burbero si è rivelato uno dei personaggi più simpatici del nostro lungo giro in Irlanda. Tra le varie torte che abbiamo provato la nostra preferita è stata quella al whisky, davvero squisita. Se dovessi mai ripassare da quelle zone ci tornerei immediatamente!

26/09/2024: My group had a really disappointing experience recently. I work as a community worker on the north side of the Cork and had arranged over the phone to bring a group of 15 elderly people to see an exhibition advertised to be on until 31st December 2024. I had let the venue know we would be coming and had asked about lifts, access etc. All was hunky dory over the phone. When we got there on the monday morning, we were told by the staff member I had spoken to on the phone the week before that the exhibition had been taken down at short notice because of Culture Night. I had people aged 65 to 83yrs with me, yet the staff member in charge offered no apology, nor were we offered to sit down to catch our breath or encouraged to stay for a cup of tea or offered any help in finding another exhibition or thing of interest close by. The staff member in charge claimed I had got my dates mixed up and showed no people's skills nor kindness. A few days later I requested contact with a manager through the website 'contact us' section. It's been 11 days and I haven't received a call or an email. A missed opportunity to connect and restore confidence. I won't be bringing groups to St Peter Church in future nor promote its activities in my own circles.

25/01/2025: Found this great spot by accident. Staff was so cool, they steered me towards a new beer i had never tried: Beamish. Can't wait to come back for their live muaic nights

12/10/2024: We had the most amazing time! We were with a group of twelve and were treated to a spectacular day. Kathleen the proprietor was a delight. She showed many in our group how to pour a proper pint and fixed us the most lovely lunch. She was very kind and accommodating, this was definitely the highlight of our trip.

22/10/2024: Passing from Cork to Killarney, we stopped for lunch in this restaurant. We were made very welcome. The meal was good and the price affordable. I recommend this place.

17/12/2024: A fabulous place for lunch. Fire lighting was so cosy and warm. Some of us had lunch , others sandwiches or soup. The sandwiches were lovely. (Proper ham not processed crap.) The service was great. Will certainly be back.
