15/12/2024: Was looking for a well-rated cocktail bar for drinks after a West End show and this place turned up. Couldn’t have been happier. We were able to reserve a table online from 1015pm to 1115pm. The drinks are really ambitious and well made. They’re hard to describe — very different than classic cocktails in most cases. We had six between us and they were all great. (And I suspect the alcohol content is lower than is typical; after three drinks I felt nowhere near as intoxicated as I normally would.) Good live music — a Cuban jazz trio the night we were there. The staff was GREAT! Three of them spent considerable time chatting with us. Highly recommend.

Il proprietario ha anche scambiato con noi qualche parola in italiano e anche se in un primo momento può sembrare un po’ burbero si è rivelato uno dei personaggi più simpatici del nostro lungo giro in Irlanda. Tra le varie torte che abbiamo provato la nostra preferita è stata quella al whisky, davvero squisita. Se dovessi mai ripassare da quelle zone ci tornerei immediatamente!

26/09/2024: My group had a really disappointing experience recently. I work as a community worker on the north side of the Cork and had arranged over the phone to bring a group of 15 elderly people to see an exhibition advertised to be on until 31st December 2024. I had let the venue know we would be coming and had asked about lifts, access etc. All was hunky dory over the phone. When we got there on the monday morning, we were told by the staff member I had spoken to on the phone the week before that the exhibition had been taken down at short notice because of Culture Night. I had people aged 65 to 83yrs with me, yet the staff member in charge offered no apology, nor were we offered to sit down to catch our breath or encouraged to stay for a cup of tea or offered any help in finding another exhibition or thing of interest close by. The staff member in charge claimed I had got my dates mixed up and showed no people's skills nor kindness. A few days later I requested contact with a manager through the website 'contact us' section. It's been 11 days and I haven't received a call or an email. A missed opportunity to connect and restore confidence. I won't be bringing groups to St Peter Church in future nor promote its activities in my own circles.

22/10/2024: Passing from Cork to Killarney, we stopped for lunch in this restaurant. We were made very welcome. The meal was good and the price affordable. I recommend this place.

12/10/2024: We had the most amazing time! We were with a group of twelve and were treated to a spectacular day. Kathleen the proprietor was a delight. She showed many in our group how to pour a proper pint and fixed us the most lovely lunch. She was very kind and accommodating, this was definitely the highlight of our trip.

21/11/2024: hello sir/madam/non binary i was in today as my winter tradition with my work colleagues who including myself have worked so hard during the year and we really look forward to our yearly trad ( tradition ) of going into bakestone and ordering my favourite sandwich and while indulging in the craic and banter with my colleagues. until i was met with a real slap of reality ..no chicken sandwich. as much as i love this establishment. i can no longer come home to my wife and say ive been fully satisfied with my chicken sandwich becasue unfortunately and cowardly they REMOVED IT off of the menu. i am beyond sad and vulnerable and i hope to see it in the coming year for our easter trad ( traditional night )

21/08/2024: Durante una vacanza tra amici abbiamo deciso di entrare nel locale per per un ultimo drink. Appena entrato siamo stati caldamente invitati a consumare qualcosa. Abbiamo preso 4 gin tonic in 8 persone ma nonostante ciò le persone senza bicchiere in mano sono state amaramente cacciate dal locale. Pessima accoglienza. During a holiday with friends we decided to enter the place for a last drink. As soon as we entered we were warmly invited to have something to eat. We had 4 gin and tonics in 8 people but despite this the people without a glass in their hand were bitterly kicked out of the place. Bad reception.

18/11/2024: We’re a group of friends from Barcelona who came to visit another friend living here in Ireland. She surprised us with a dinner at what she called one of the best restaurants in County Cork. And let me say, it was a very pleasant surprise because we had an amazing time. The restaurant is a bit outside the city, in a peaceful and idyllic setting, yet still close enough – we got there in just 20 minutes. The food? Absolutely spectacular. I’ve never had a sole that size before, and it was cooked to perfection, so tender it felt like a sponge. We also had hake, which was delicious. The side plates of vegetables were spot-on, cooked to the perfect texture. Everything was just flawless – too perfect, even. It’s been a long time since I’ve had such authentic fish for dinner. We also tried oysters, which were heavenly, and chicken pâté with avocado and crab. Everything was a solid 10, truly. I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt like I had to this time because it was genuinely one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was also authentically Irish, and the owners – I don’t even know what to say – were incredibly friendly and attentive. They felt like real friends, making you feel at home, as if you’d known them forever. When we return to Ireland, we will absolutely be coming back.

19/07/2024: A most memorable Friday night If you want a magical experience..Finders ..If you could rate a restaurant experience at 6 stars or more..it's in Nohaval .The kind warm welcome from the proprietors..the food..the music...the people..the setting ..the finer details.It exudes elegance in every manner Huge respect to the owners for coming back even stronger after surviving pandemic .

20/09/2024: Great spot for a quick lunch to go. They have tasty sandwiches, made fresh each day, that they toast up for you. Always tastes great!! They offer a lunch deal with a sandwich + soup for a reasonable price. Always hits the spot and I’ll be back again soon!!
