13/01/2025: Literally the first pub i walked in to after getting off the plane, and they've got live country music! (And some Oasis & others). Tried a great new beer too, "Beamish". Think I'm gonna like it here

05/01/2025: We visited the blackbird for lunch to try the food at Trawler Boys. The food was fantastic and it was a lovely pub. We were charged €9 for a Coke and 2 pints of orange cordial, which seems very steep when you consider a can of coke is €3 on its own. I have no issue paying for cordial, but €3 for a pint of it is extreme! Other than that, it was nice

06/01/2025: Nothing to say. WELL DONE 💯 After many years I return to visit them in the new location but nothing has changed! I always leave enthusiastic. Exceptional drinks, fantastic atmosphere.

05/01/2025: I was a customer of the old Oriole in Farringdon, and I can say this one is as amazing as the previous one! Compliments to the staff, and Alessio in particular who took care of me and my friend during my visit. Will definitely come back!

15/12/2024: This place was great definitely one of the best in Youghal. The service was outstanding especially from Rashina, the rest of the staff were great also. The food was delicious, though I maybe ate too much, the garlic bread starter would have done as a meal in itself. I followed with the fish pie which was delicious. Next time I’m in Youghal I will definitely be back. On one of the busiest nights of the year we arrived at 5.30 looking to make a booking for later on, Rashina really did get best to accommodate us a got us a table for 7.30 . Excellent customer service.

03/10/2024: Siamo stati in questo locale a prendere un irish coffee (buonissimo) e le torte fatte in casa. Il posto é immerso in un’atmosfera magica, strana, insolita. Il proprietario ha anche scambiato con noi qualche parola in italiano e anche se in un primo momento può sembrare un po’ burbero si è rivelato uno dei personaggi più simpatici del nostro lungo giro in Irlanda. Tra le varie torte che abbiamo provato la nostra preferita è stata quella al whisky, davvero squisita. Se dovessi mai ripassare da quelle zone ci tornerei immediatamente!

26/09/2024: My group had a really disappointing experience recently. I work as a community worker on the north side of the Cork and had arranged over the phone to bring a group of 15 elderly people to see an exhibition advertised to be on until 31st December 2024. I had let the venue know we would be coming and had asked about lifts, access etc. All was hunky dory over the phone. When we got there on the monday morning, we were told by the staff member I had spoken to on the phone the week before that the exhibition had been taken down at short notice because of Culture Night. I had people aged 65 to 83yrs with me, yet the staff member in charge offered no apology, nor were we offered to sit down to catch our breath or encouraged to stay for a cup of tea or offered any help in finding another exhibition or thing of interest close by. The staff member in charge claimed I had got my dates mixed up and showed no people's skills nor kindness. A few days later I requested contact with a manager through the website 'contact us' section. It's been 11 days and I haven't received a call or an email. A missed opportunity to connect and restore confidence. I won't be bringing groups to St Peter Church in future nor promote its activities in my own circles.

22/10/2024: Passing from Cork to Killarney, we stopped for lunch in this restaurant. We were made very welcome. The meal was good and the price affordable. I recommend this place.

07/01/2025: Stayed here twice this year. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Showers had great water pressure. Anne and Brendan were great hosts. The bar downstairs is great. They serve a good pint. This is a fine location to walk into Midleton for great food. A nice walk to the distillery as well. We will be back again.

29/12/2024: So called bouncer Pretends he’s the manager he’s rude and thinks he owns the place. You might as well close the place down with him left at the Front door. He needs to be fired !!

27/12/2024: Best pub in Midleton arguably! But if you want a classy and relaxing environment and an extensive drinks menu this is the place to be.

12/10/2024: We had the most amazing time! We were with a group of twelve and were treated to a spectacular day. Kathleen the proprietor was a delight. She showed many in our group how to pour a proper pint and fixed us the most lovely lunch. She was very kind and accommodating, this was definitely the highlight of our trip.

30/12/2024: Lovely venue with Meadows and Byrne and garden centre, to browse and dine. The ladies toilets are a disgrace. Filthy, broken flush and door lock. They are such a contrast to everything else. They don’t make money, so possibly their refurbishment is not a priority. Please reconsider this major oversight.

26/12/2024: Great place for a breakfast or brunch. My favourite dish is eggs Benedict with spinach and roasted potatoes with hollandaise sauce. Everything is fresh and tasty. Loads of cakes, scones and croissants options.

17/12/2024: A fabulous place for lunch. Fire lighting was so cosy and warm. Some of us had lunch , others sandwiches or soup. The sandwiches were lovely. (Proper ham not processed crap.) The service was great. Will certainly be back.

25/09/2024: Nice pub, pity about the absolute pr**k of an owner. After speaking in other pubs I found out most of the people in Kinsale feel the same about him. Hamlets pub nextdoor is a by far nicer pub.
