16/01/2026: I chose this place to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and from our very first interaction with customer service to the end of the evening, it was an amazing experience. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. We ordered a variety of dishes, and while the main course (the pork chops) was fairly average, everything else was absolutely delicious. I was pleasantly surprised, as I didn’t expect this place to offer such high-quality food. The drinks menu was diverse and unique, with plenty of options to choose from, including wines and other beverages. The live music was another highlight of the night—it really enhanced the atmosphere and made the evening even more enjoyable. Overall, we had a fantastic time, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys live music and great food. The photos online truly don’t do it justice.

15/01/2026: We had an absolute blast, very intimate setting, the band read the room perfectly and the service was impeccable. The food is worth a detour. The manager of the restaurant, JAcob, took very good care of his guest !

25/01/2026: Very disappointing experience. I was genuinely taken aback by how rude and dismissive the young man behind the bar was. His attitude was openly hostile and unwelcoming, and it was clear his priority was chatting with his friends at the end of the bar rather than serving customers properly. While I was there, a couple of people came in looking for food and left visibly unimpressed by his manner as well, so it certainly wasn’t just my impression. Good customer service costs nothing, yet it was completely absent. If someone dislikes dealing with the public, working behind a bar is probably not the right job. What’s more surprising is that locals told me he’s been there for years, which raises serious questions about management oversight and standards. Ballycotton relies on hospitality, and places like this should be setting a far better example. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I wouldn’t be in a hurry to return.

11/01/2026: You cannot beat a proper Irish bar with live music EVERY WEEK, multiple times at that. They always have a mix, it could be rock, folk, trad, dj, and general mix. They also serve food through the trawler boys. And they cater for afters of weddings or birthdays etc.

10/12/2025: We were a family of 24 staying overnight and attending the Christmas party. What a great night from start to finish. From the minute we arrived at check in the staff were so friendly and helpful. This is our 2nd Christmas staying here and we will definitely be back next year. A wonderful hotel with amazing staff. Thank you for making our weekend so memorable. All the rooms were beautiful too.

10/12/2025: The Talbot Midleton is a great hotel in a good location with a bus stop right outside. All of the staff that we met were friendly and professional whatever their job. We had lovely food in the bar and there was a good selection for breakfast. Our room was warm and comfortable. There is just one thing that I don't like and that is the shower curtain! A nice bath screen would be so much better. As repeat guests We once again totally enjoyed our stay and we'll be back. Thank you and well done everyone at the Talbot Midleton.

19/02/2026: Frosty knickers takes payment after having very pleasant experience with waiting staff ! Penne pasta sauce was very watered down for an extortionate price !

24/01/2026: Politely shown to our table, lovely lunch menu, the food was very nice,staff very attentive. Lovely place to go for a social drink or for dining.

27/01/2026: One deli staff not very pleasant Tell people to go back to the queue when you get to counter. She is very nude to customers, needs to be trained in customer service.

07/09/2025: Bring your own pillows and tvs are cheap with only a few channels but location is great and breakfast is good although coffee wasn’t so good

07/09/2025: The lobby on entering the hotel was fabulous. But as soon as we got to our room that’s where it ended. Bathroom was not clean, Stains around the bin on the floor, problem with the hose for the shower, kept popping off the shower head, silicone around shower base has mould on it. At €277 a night I thought we would have a mini fridge or cooler in the room but we didn’t.

01/11/2025: Firstly, a huge thank you to Brendan. My return from last year for 3 wonderful nights and plan to return next year. Supremely clean and comfortable rooms. A cozy traditional pub lies below rooms. A few minute walk into Midelton town centre. A 3 minute walk to train station which will have you into Cork City Centre in 22 minutes. Thanks to a terrific staff and the friendly locals who frequent this gem of a pub.

19/09/2025: What a place, super clean bed & breakfast with a friendly well run bar downstairs. Brendan the owner is a super nice guy. We had some great chats. The breakfast was very generous, lots of local produce on the menu, rashers & sausages etc. The bar stocks Blacks Beer & the best selection of Stonewell Ciders I've seen in a bar that size. Also the obligatory locally produced Midleton Whiskey

08/06/2025: Had the classic. Great home made sausage with just the right spices. Roll held together till the end. Onions and peppers were tender and fresh.

04/06/2025: Contained in the huge English Market SC ,this place stands out from all the other exceptional vendors. Just a small stall with usually only 3 workers, it can turn out food to die for. All sandwiches are make rite on the spot. You can customize or order any of the house specials. Grab a special, find a quiet spot, (not possible) and enjoy.

10/03/2026: My experience in the hotel was very nice and I enjoyed myself having breakfast served up to me. I had a great time and I would like to stay there again.

10/03/2026: I’m disappointed with the spa area Unfortunately, the sauna or steam room only works occasionally, and the jacuzzi is almost always out of order. It’s frustrating because these amenities are advertised, but in reality they are often unavailable. I hope the management fixes these issues and properly maintains the spa area or I will newer come back because it no reason to pay this money for 30% of working spa area
