10/08/2025: A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I visited The Blackbird in Ballycotton on a quiet Tuesday or Wednesday evening. At the time, there were only five people in the bar: one lady seated by the window, a couple at the bar, and ourselves at a table in front of the TV. I was watching live darts on my phone when I overheard the couple at the bar ask the young bartender if he could put the darts on the TV. His response shocked me — he said he couldn’t, as the owner had instructed him to only put on the women’s football game. The surprising part was that the match wasn’t due to start until 8 p.m., and this was shortly after 7 p.m. In the meantime, they were showing a rerun of a preseason Arsenal friendly, which made little sense. I was so disappointed by this inflexible and unwelcoming approach that I left the bar. Shortly after, I noticed the couple at the bar left as well and went across the street. That simple refusal resulted in four out of the five customers walking out, leaving just one person in the place. Later that night, I caught up with the couple and asked if this was a regular occurrence — their answer was an emphatic “absolutely.” This experience left me with the impression that customer satisfaction is not a priority here, which is unfortunate for such a charming location.

19/08/2025: This was our favorite cocktail bar from our most recent trip to London. The drinks were fantastic, the atmosphere and vibes were immaculate. The staff was attentive and friendly and helped us make our drink choices. We also had some small plates, which were excellent. There was fantastic live music playing while we were there (think Django Reinhardt style guitar). This is not an inexpensive place to drink, but you will not be disappointed.

16/08/2025: What a an incredible experience, start to finish. Service was impeccable all throughout our visit. The entertainment was spectacular and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The food was so full of flavour and was worth every penny, albeit the pricing was more than reasonable. I highly recommend dinner and a show. If I’m ever back in London, I’ll be back here again. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable and make sure you have everything you need whenever you need it. If I could rate it more than 5 I would. Cheers.

23/06/2025: Beautiful old Irish country bar with lovely outdoor seating area. For Michael Collins fans definitely worth a visit too. Perfect pint of Guinness too.

22/06/2025: After moving to the area we finally got to visit and we wasn’t disappointed. It’s great that you can have a drink in the bar area and have a look at the menu before moving through to the restaurant. All our dishes were fantastic and they have a great wine selection. This is the sort of place you could enjoy a 3 course meal with a bottle of wine or a bowl of mussels with a pint of lager. Many more visits to follow hopefully!

27/04/2025: Finders Inn, Nohoval is warm, cosy, full of character and charm. The food is top class - always - with plenty to choose from. My favourites the hors d'oeuvre or Seafood in Filo pastry to start followed by Cassoulet of Seafood or Rack of Lamb for mains (I find it very difficult to choose!) Delicious sides (included in price) potato gratin, roasted vegetables and chips add to make this a 10/10 meal on flavour every time. We LOVE coming to Finders for a night out. It’s the best restaurant as far as I’m concerned.

14/08/2025: Food is always great in the Anchor especially their fresh fish. Not overpriced all home cooked with hand made chips/fries or jacket potato with veg or salad. Great pint of guiness and nice wines to chose from. Lovely wait staff headed by Carol

13/08/2025: The bar staff were very good helpful and friendly and the food was excellent nice surroundings and very clean highly recommended

22/08/2025: Big filling station with large store and food on site. Good stopping point if traving towards dublin.

08/06/2025: Had the classic. Great home made sausage with just the right spices. Roll held together till the end. Onions and peppers were tender and fresh.

04/06/2025: Contained in the huge English Market SC ,this place stands out from all the other exceptional vendors. Just a small stall with usually only 3 workers, it can turn out food to die for. All sandwiches are make rite on the spot. You can customize or order any of the house specials. Grab a special, find a quiet spot, (not possible) and enjoy.

16/03/2025: Overnight stay while visiting the distillery which is a short walk into town. The bar and room were super clean and the furnishings upstairs made me feel like I was back at my Granny's house, which is good!

29/08/2025: The staff is very helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. The food is delicious, I’ve had my daily sausage roll with marmalade and it doesn’t disappoint! Various varieties. More seating would be nice, but no t a deal breaker.

27/08/2025: Best matcha I've had in Dublin (and I have had a lot of matcha :)). It's so sweet! Lovely with oat milk. Staff super friendly and attentive also.

07/09/2025: The lobby on entering the hotel was fabulous. But as soon as we got to our room that’s where it ended. Bathroom was not clean, Stains around the bin on the floor, problem with the hose for the shower, kept popping off the shower head, silicone around shower base has mould on it. At €277 a night I thought we would have a mini fridge or cooler in the room but we didn’t.

07/09/2025: Bring your own pillows and tvs are cheap with only a few channels but location is great and breakfast is good although coffee wasn’t so good
