19/10/2025: Great local pub, well kept, nice staff and nice people . Just had the ollies full Irish fry and it was the nicest I've had in a long time. Would highly recommend it.

28/11/2025: Lovely pizza, 16 inch was perfect for 2 people just could have done with a few extra olives next time (8 on whole pizza). Cozy coffee shop but would recommend turning music down abit next time is all. Overall great value, great quality, great customer service. Will be back (hopefully with a few extra olives)

31/10/2025: A terrible experience. I wasn't allowed to use the restroom despite politely requesting it and explaining it was an emergency. Furthermore, the staff treated me very disrespectfully, even searching me for no reason. I absolutely do not recommend this place; it shows a complete lack of respect for its customers.

19/10/2025: Atmosphere: Great ambience, felt intimate and lively. ​Performers: The MC was super energetic, and the acts were all genuinely laugh-out-loud funny. A strong, well-curated show.

20/01/2026: Terrible. 12.50 for 1 slice of bread with 1 lonely egg. Daylight robbery. My own fault for paying for it ! Don’t waste your money.

17/01/2026: Can't fault the service at McCloskeys. Extremely efficient and friendly bar staff. The food however was very disappointing. My partner ordered a full roast dinner but what he got was luke warm microwaved dinner. It looked like it was prepared the previous day. The vegetables were grey, the stuffing was obviously reheated several times as it was dry and hard not to mention a tiny portion. The meat was cold in parts and barely warm in others and the broccoli was raw. It was hugely disappointing and he couldn't finish it. I had the hake which I couldn't eat. Mine was also reheated and almost tasted like plastic. When we arrived the place it was early evening and was empty so it makes no sense that the food was so bad. We had high hopes for McCloskeys as we loved the pub through the years. Hopefully they will see this review and endeavour to improve their food quality.

26/01/2026: First time in here and I finished off the last week's working week with a well-deserved pint. Couldn’t have picked a better spot. Handy to get to, good buzz about the place, && the staff were sound as a bell. Guinness was creamy and well kept, exactly what you want on a Friday evening. I’ll definitely be back.

16/10/2025: This venue is well located, walkable distance to the town & nice drive to Cong. Bedrooms are a good size. Bathrooms would benefit from an upgrade but are fine. Receptionist was quite cold but all other staff were very pleasant. Food was very good, though service was incredibly slow. Night porter was extremely helpful. Didn't use the leisure centre but it looked quite nice.

17/01/2026: It’s a nice environment to be in but a double Jameson and Coke was €17.80. Got to admit no warning of that was a bit of a sting Everyone one else enjoyed it though with just beers

29/12/2025: Attended before a concert in the 3 arena the week before Christmas. Took over 15mins to get served as lots of concert goers and christmas partys present. Did manage to get a seat. Nice atmosphere.

01/01/2026: Guinness and Beamish pints were the cheapest I've seen in Dublin so far! Plenty of taps available and you can pay to taste test some uncommon varieties too. Had the 3 dishes at an incredible discount as they had a 3 for $15 deal (saved $12 for the following options: 8 inch veg pizza, halloumi fries and nachos). Halloumi fries were fantastic and the sweet chilli is a lovely pairing to it. We dipped the other dishes with the sweet chilli too! The veg pizza was good, but nothing extraordinary. Liked that it was thin-crusted too. Nachos were mid, the salsa tasted store-bought. There were plenty of seating varieties available on both floors (bar not available on second floor): tall tables, booths, regular tables, outdoor seating. Nobody sat outside as it's December at the moment but please do mind the seagulls when sitting outdoors since it's a seaside town.

31/12/2025: Place is absolutely milking people with their tapas / sharing plates for 15 quid. I went there with 4 friends. We were initially under the impression that 15 euro per person = 4 plates. 2 plates of food were served Food was fine but in no reality was there 60 euro worth of food on those 2 plates. If going, you're better off ordering something off the normal menu for less, if that is an option. Bouncers at the door seemed a bit short tempered / needlessly aggressive also, barking at people as they came in to give their names / confirm booking. Just gave us a bad vibe before we even sat down to eat. Overall not a great experience here and wouldn't be rushing back.

01/12/2025: Fast and efficient service. A spacious and quiet place, even when it's full. Much better than the McDonald's on the same street.

28/11/2025: Food was ok. Toilets were awful. Staff were friendly and helpful. Other customers were rude. Lady asked if she could remove a chair from our table. I agreed. She then proceeded to use the chair on the next table so I was blocked in. She then decided to move to another table anyway.

20/09/2025: Absolutely super service, real moment of truth stuff and they delivered big and saved the night. Highly recommend the crew here. Ambience of a quiet place to eat if you're in the hotel on business.

10/09/2025: It's a hotel bar that serves food. Went for something that was on the menu online, not on the menu. Wanted a cold cocktail, no bartender on so settled for a Guinness, that someone at the bar instructed the server how to pour. Food was average and under seasoned. Atmosphere was rather blah. Server could have used a little help, and a little deodorant. (Sorry)

21/11/2025: Lovely coffee shop, friendly staff, had a great sausage roll and chicken pesto with coffee, wasn't expensive, sat outside for the natural beauty and a robin came to sit with us. Great experience.

12/10/2025: Great coffee shop..can be very busy on weekends. They need to develop better system for people queuing. It's very disorganised. Great coffee and cakes.
