25/11/2024: Haven't been there for a while, but still brilliant. Went there on Sunday for a carvery. Delicious. Nice choices on the menu. Had roast beef highly recommend, and was reliability informed the ham was georgeous. A lovely choice of vegetable. Great atmosphere, and the staff very helpful and friendly.

24/11/2024: Just back from a 2 night stay. Great location. Staff were very good, a special mention has to be given to Ben in Hardys Bar. Unbelievable professional and friendly service, what a credit to the hotel. Room was very comfortable.

08/12/2024: La gestión y el portero aquí son una absoluta desgracia. Mi amigo y yo estábamos sentados en una mesa tomando una copa y de repente nos dijeron que la mesa estaba reservada para una fiesta en este momento, nos dieron poco o ningún tiempo para movernos. El portero se acercó y me quitó el cóctel de la mano y me manipuló pidiéndome que me fuera, esto fue reforzado aún más por la participación del gerente general Paul Williams, afirmando que llamaría a la garda. Entonces me negué a irme, como cuestión de principio y sobre la base de este maltrato. Le pregunté por qué motivos tenemos que irnos, no estábamos borrachos desordenadamente ni haciendo nada malo, esto no parecía justificar una respuesta adecuada. La manera en que se me acercó y me pidió que me fuera fue terrible, así como la vergüenza y el malestar que causó. Una cosa es hablar con alguien en un tono agradable y sugerir que te consigamos una nueva mesa en otro lugar del bar o disculparnos por tener que apurarnos, pero en realidad echarnos fue completamente innecesario e injustificado. Trabajar en el sector de la hospitalidad es algo así como ser un hospicio y tener ciertas habilidades para las personas. El portero y gerente general en 37 Dawson Street ciertamente no exhibe estas habilidades interpersonales básicas y en su lugar buscan intimidar y acosar a las clientas jóvenes. Al final mi amiga se fue por su cuenta y cedió a la táctica del matón y fui escoltada fuera de las instalaciones por la garda por mi desafío al irme.

10/11/2024: This was my second visit! There is a sort of peace in this coffee shop that you won’t find anywhere else. And that together with the care and attention on the coffee is a winner experience. I had the coffee in aeropress: €5 pure deliciousness. Music is delightful. They also have a great variety of coffee beans and coffee gadgets.

25/11/2024: The staff doesn't allow you to take liquid or even water bottle to the hall. They mentioned that we get water for free but in reality we had to pay for it. Plus they charge to keep the bags/belongings. It doesn't feel right after paying the ticket price. Seating is okay, staff is polite.

30/11/2024: Booked and paid for a spot in their car park online in advance and this is what happened. Arrive at the car park and there is a sign saying car park full but I was able to drive in through the barrier anyway. Then there is some guy from the hotel in the car park saying the car park is full and it pretty much is, bar one spot that had a cone in it. I told him I have paid for a spot and why can’t I park there and he said it is for a guest, I told him what am I to do now as I have paid for a car park spot and he said the hotel shouldn’t be selling car park spots in advance on their website as they need to keep spots for their guests. Eventually following a bit of remonstration as he realised I was now late for an event he managed to squeeze me into a spot of sorts. They shouldn’t be selling car park spots in advance if they cannot guarantee you your spot when you arrive.

14/12/2024: Butlers make the best hot chocolate. Only down side is that this store is only for take away, but still worth a stop.

15/12/2024: Staff are so rude. Especially a blonde girl who was extremely rude, think her name was Holly. Staff are slow to bring drinks to table. I can’t get over how rude the staff were, turning their nose up at asking to order drinks. There is a South American lady working there, she is the only good thing going for this bar - awful atmosphere.

06/12/2024: Just want to say thank you to all the staff at the maples from the receptionist to the bar staff to the breakfast staff the dj everyone was so nice and welcoming last week at my wedding party we had the best time and got to take some amazing photographs and make such nice memories honestly everyone had commented on how beautiful the hotel was and the christmas decorations made the day feel extra special would highly recommend the maples house hotel it truely is a hidden gem❤️ sinead and luey

11/12/2024: Came with 10 people for a quick desert at 20:45, the place closes at 21:30. We were denied service, because the staff is too lazy to respect the working times and cuts down to start the cleaning early. Unprofessional. The food is good.

11/12/2024: Please note that working hours mentioned are not correct. At Tuesday evening at 8.45pm we were group of 10 people arriving at restaurant without prior reservation and we wanted only deserts. Also we said that wanted to be there for 30 minutes only, which is for desert enough (and that is 15 minutes before their closing time). We were rejected because staff started with tables cleaning and closing the area. Very disappointed with restaurant politics and against working hours mentioned.

28/11/2024: Completely unreasonable staff, staff member Aidan would not allow me to have food in the venue even though he was serving others in the meantime. He told me he was refusing admission but would not give a reason why. I am a 21 year old female who simply wanted food with friends but would not allow us to eat or drink in the venue. Would not recommend at all.

18/11/2024: We were so lucky to have McGowans host our recent event. The staff, venue, food and drinks were 5 star.
