28/01/2026: I stay at the LGA for a couple of weeks each year since 2022. Im a solo traveller and the room suits me fine for what i need. Easy walking distance to local pubs, post office, banks, restaurants and supermarket.

09/12/2025: I had heard so many good things about Brownes and the food truck that my partner and I decided to book a table for 6 people 2 weeks in advance in the outdoor area, a family get together which we were all looking forward to . On arriving into Brownes 15 mins before our booked time we were told that there was no table and we could not stay as they had a split the G contest for charity going on. My partner approached the lady that had taken the booking who had forgotten all about it and only we had it on the phone to show her she would not have believed us. I had driven from Dublin with two others to be there so to say I was annoyed would be an understatement. The lady did after we spoke to her offer to keep us a table but we would have to wait, or we could sit in smoking area which as none of us smoke was not suitable. We did wait for 15mins but decided to go somewhere else as we did not want our family night out completely ruined. My partner contacted Brownes and was given a €30.00 voucher, which I thought was a derisory token considering there was 6 people 3 of which had travelled from Dublin. I for one will not be returning if this is how they value their customers. I find Brownes handling of this issue totally unacceptable and if they had double booked they should have informed us so we could make alternative arrangements. Everything about this incident should be used as an example of how not run a business.

16/10/2025: Best pint of Guinness I had for ages, good barman, good craic in the bar, & it's convenient for the bus stops 100 yards away.. 👍

09/12/2025: A great spot for lunch or an early dinner. The prawn tacos were very nice. We were a party of 4 and everyone loved their dishes

20/09/2025: Had lunch here today and have to admit I did not like their rustic chips that came with the chicken sandwich I had ordered. Only managed to eat a handful but did let it be known to the waitress that the food was OK bar the chips when clearing our table which was clearly obvious from the amount left.

17/10/2025: My only go to bubble tea place in town. Superb customer service. The girl offered me a plastic bag to hold my drink when she saw me coming with a crying baby. Very considerate and made my day. Thanks. I always order the milk based bubble tea with tapioca pearls here. But lately my husband bring me the fruity bubble variant and it has nice sensation too. The bubbles are popping nicely. Highly recommended.

29/10/2025: Walked in then walked straight back out the second I walked in the whole pub including staff just stopped and looked at me as I was looking for a seat they were still looking at me It was strange it was like going into a house full of slack jaw yokels Terrible atmosphere They were shocked someone walked into the pub it was like I was trespassing

26/10/2025: Came to Gorey to see where my grandparents were born and used to live. Within minutes of being in here we were given details of the local historian and approached by locals who offered information they thought would be helpful. Absolutely fantastic. Lovely locals and a great pint. Will be going back before we go home.

24/11/2025: Wanted to try a new coffee shop. Went in around 11:30-12 , bathrooms were disgusting with pee on the floor and no toilet paper in any of them. It wasn’t busy but I understand since there were only 3 people on staff that I saw. One barista did not have their hair tied up when making drinks. Other then that drinks were lovely and the girl who served us was very understanding and polite.

05/11/2025: Overall a good Costa. I had the Cortado which was nice. The seats need to be replaced as some are torn and frayed. The staff member who served me was pleasant but two others were engaged in a hushed conversation which looked out of place.

27/07/2025: What a chipper. I must say, absolutely astonishing. From the food to the service to the atmosphere, absolutely breathtaking. To begin, the chicken fillet burger that I consumed was second to none. Pure, real, juicy chicken breast sandwiched in two plump burger buns, along with all of the toppings, quite impressive how they managed to create such an incredible taste. Moving on to the atmosphere, pure joy and love in the building. I could not have felt any more at home when I stepped foot into fratellis, surrounded by the love and care of such incredible people. Lastly, the service; 10/10. The workers were incredibly helpful, especially young Alberto behind the counter who took my order and made my food, what a hard working, generous and kind man. All in all, what I’d like to say is fratellis is a must visit chipper in gorey town, best around. 🥰😁👍
