27/03/2026: I couldn't be more happy to have discovered this place while working in New Ross area. I came in on a Monday evening looking for food, clearly not a local but I was warmly welcomed by Sean and the whole staff. And before I knew I found myself singing Karaoke with the amazing Tina and I even made friends in there. On Tuesday I decided to go back for few pints and some work, and I didn't regret it. It was like having found my friendly neighborhood pub 250km far from home. Absolutely priceless. The fact that the pub vibe is great and the pints have an absolute reasonable price makes it a no brainer. Can't wait to be back in New Ross for another pint at Murray's. Thank you lads!

12/09/2026: Just had the WORST food ever from here! I ordered a Whirley burger meal and when I got it,it was pure sloppy, burger was like the road and so was the chips!! My partner had ham and pepperoni pizza and was the same pure sloppy and meat was halal not your normal pizza toppings 🤮 Never again!!
02/09/2026: I ordered for delivery for the first time in a while, and there has been a noticeable decline in quality.
It took almost an hour for our food to arrive. One of the sauces was missing. The kebab which was specifically order as ‘no salad’ did in fact still have salad. It had also been left sitting so long it was stuck to the paper it was served in.
I won’t be back any time soon. There’s better options to choose from in the town now.

03/08/2026: Food was lovely, couldn't fault it! I had the "Mondo burger" meal deal which was savage, a nice big juicy 8oz burger with all the trimmings, was very good.. also we had a pizza meal deal, and garlic/cheese pizza, both were really good, nice thin base, lovely sauce, nice and buttery garlic bread, served with chips, dips and a drink, was very good! Loads of seating inside and has been recently renovated, nice and clean, staff were really good too, definitely eating here again!

22/09/2026: AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.
Ordered the seafood pasta and lasagna. There was a long bone in the pasta which i nearly chocked on. Then came across a bit of plastic, barely ate half of the pasta so sent it back, Waitress went back to the chef and the chef tried to say the plastic was off of the prawns even tho it was peeled prawns in the dish??? We got fed up and went to pay and mentioned about the bone again when the chef came out shouting ‘not my f***ing problem it comes from the factory in a bag’. There was no point in arguing so we paid FULL PRICE which is outrageous. If i could give 0 stars i would. Maybe you should change suppliers so you dont end up killing somebody!
15/07/2026: We were here as a family and were very satisfied. Warm bread with Irish butter and a large carafe of water were served beforehand. The food was excellent.

30/08/2026: Order placed at 16:50 in New Ross for 450m distance. It is now 20:04 - that is 3 hours and 14 minutes. The food still has not arrived.
Penguins are known for their agility, wisdom and incredible teamwork. They take care of each other and work together for the good of the colony.
Imagine how much you insult these animals by using their name while treating customers like this. Zero respect, zero organization, zero responsibility.
If you worked even 10% like real penguins, the order would have been here in 15 minutes.
Good thing I pay cash on delivery, because I would not accept food after 3 hours anyway. I do not trust it.
0/10. Shameful. People of New Ross, do not waste your time and money here.
16/08/2026: This place has absolutely gone to the dogs. Wrong orders, food either over or undercooked and the chips - famous throughout New Ross and beyond are a 50/50 mix of chips and sharp hard end bits you could hammer into a wall. And the counter staff, my God are they rude. Just really really rude unpleasant people. Save your money and go to Bella's around the corner, the Penguin is unrecognisable these days to what it used to be.

23/10/2024: there was a hair in my sisters food, my ma's batter was hard as a rock, the garlic on mi doner kebab tasted akward, my OTHER sisters chicken was dryer than a dried up well, my nannys chicken was funky and they had vinegar in a lucozade bottle, the server was nice.
