Abbeyglen Castle Hotel in Clifden

We had a deluxe room, which was amazing. Our daughters' room was more basic and rather musty. The whole place was very charming. Food was mid, at least dinner. I might eat in town if I had to do it again. The crowd was definitely older, and that's saying something because I'm 60.

Attended a wedding on 13th of Feb. One of the best venues I've been at for a wedding. Such a beautiful venue, food was delicious, staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms were gorgeous with incredible views. I'll be back again for a stay!!

We only used the cafeteria on our way to the beach, but we thought the place and the hotel were spectacular.

What a place..from the minute you arrive even though the wind was howling and the rain pelting down, I just felt welcome and headed for the fire in the bar ..we didn't leave the place for the day ! Food was top class.. music and entertainment like a big get together with friends. Ronan, Dermott and staff have hospitality running through their blood, it's just natural..I brought my Mum here as a surprise and what a surprise, she loved every minute of it . This is the original Irish hospitality..nit too many places like that left...safe to say we'll be back !

My family and I stayed for a night, but wish we would've stayed way longer! The castle is beautiful and people so welcoming. There are great hikes nearby - from walking along the mudflats to seeing the old castle and monuments, you really can just start off from the castle and see where you end up! Already planning our next trip out, I cannot recommend it enough.

It is a very special place. So enjoyed everything about it. Looking goreard to next visit.

Beautiful hotel!! We just had our wedding there was so well done!! Stayed there a few times and have always enjoyed our stay. Big shout out to the Hughes family they know how to run a hotel thank you for making the day so special.

What can we possibly say about Abbeyglen Castle Hotel? It is truly one of a kind. From the moment we arrived, we knew we couldn’t have chosen a more perfect venue for our wedding. The hotel is absolutely beautiful — full of charm, heart and character, and set in the most beautiful surroundings. The experience itself was nothing short of exceptional. The food was exquisite, the wine delicious, and the entire day flowed so seamlessly thanks to the incredible team. The staff are outstanding — attentive, professional, and so genuinely caring. Froda, the cosy fires, the pictures printed of the wedding the following morning at breakfast..amazing! A very special thank you to Brian, Ronan, Dermott, Olive, and every single member of staff we had the pleasure of dealing with. You made us feel so valued and supported throughout the entire process. Your warmth, dedication, generosity and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. So many of our guests told us their only complaint was not booking an extra night at the Abbeyglen — which really says it all! We are so grateful to you all for making it everything we dreamed of and more.
