Located in Fota Retail Park, Carrigtwohill, Bakestone Café & Pantry offers a delightful dining experience with its emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and artisanal products. Established by Joe and Maura Carey in 2013, this café has become a staple in East Cork, celebrated for its all-day menu featuring high-quality breakfast options and a wide selection of Irish artisan foods.
**Ambiance and Service:**
The café boasts a bright and airy atmosphere, perfect for casual gatherings. The staff are generally friendly and efficient, though some visitors have noted inconsistencies in service quality.
**Food Quality:**
While some patrons rave about the delicious breakfast dishes and fresh baked goods, others have reported mixed experiences with food temperature and presentation. The café's focus on local producers is commendable, but consistency in food quality seems to be an area for improvement.
**Unique Features:**
Bakestone's partnership with Badger & Dodo for their exclusive coffee blend, Common Grounds, adds a unique touch. The Pantry section offers an impressive array of artisanal products, highlighting over 150 Irish producers.
**Conclusion:**
Bakestone Café & Pantry is a charming spot with potential, but it needs to address the inconsistencies in food quality and service to fully meet customer expectations. Despite this, it remains a popular choice for those seeking a local, artisanal dining experience in East Cork.

Bakerstone Café is absolutely delightful! The Eggs Benedict with spinach sandwich is scrumptious—flavorful and satisfying. The apple pie and cheesecake are both incredibly yummy and make for the perfect sweet treat. The staff is friendly and always serving with a smile, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained, including the restrooms. It’s a lovely spot for a delicious meal and a pleasant experience all around!

Looove their buttermilk pancake series. But their berry pancake’s portion is inconsistent.
Sometimes the berry are poured a lot, other times the amount is small. I like it when its a lot 😍 (as shown in picture 1 and 3, same order but different days)

Lovely venue with Meadows and Byrne and garden centre, to browse and dine. The ladies toilets are a disgrace. Filthy, broken flush and door lock. They are such a contrast to everything else. They don’t make money, so possibly their refurbishment is not a priority. Please reconsider this major oversight.

Great place for a breakfast or brunch. My favourite dish is eggs Benedict with spinach and roasted potatoes with hollandaise sauce. Everything is fresh and tasty. Loads of cakes, scones and croissants options.

hello sir/madam/non binary
i was in today as my winter tradition with my work colleagues who including myself have worked so hard during the year and we really look forward to our yearly trad ( tradition ) of going into bakestone and ordering my favourite sandwich and while indulging in the craic and banter with my colleagues. until i was met with a real slap of reality ..no chicken sandwich. as much as i love this establishment. i can no longer come home to my wife and say ive been fully satisfied with my chicken sandwich becasue unfortunately and cowardly they REMOVED IT off of the menu. i am beyond sad and vulnerable and i hope to see it in the coming year for our easter trad ( traditional night )
