Barrys of Douglas in Cork

We came to Barry's to celebrate our 40th anniversary. It was so memorable. The manager, Matre`D ,,Chef and his assistant were amazing. The Matre D reserved us a secluded quiet table and offered spectacular service. I had requested my wife's favourite soup ahead and it was made impeccably. The entrees were wonderful and the Best you could find anywhere. The manager offered very knowledgeable information for a choice from their extensive whiskey and cordial selection. This and the scrumptious desserts made for a 15 out of 10 celebration for our evening.

Very disappointing vegetarian dinner. It lacked variety and was a small portion. I have sent feedback by email to restaurant

First time to have Sunday lunch here.Everyone was pleased with their meals and our server checked 5mins after we were served to see if everything was ok- a nice change from either no follow up or at the end of the meal. Only one comment...why not offer half portions of the roast of the day? All in all we will definitely be back!

The food was really delicious. Everything we ordered had a very good taste and it looked fresh. I really enjoy the food, and I think it is a good place to go.

I ordered lunch but it never arrived so l say anything about the food. The Atmosphere was old club style which was very comfortable indeed. Service was OK

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What a fantastic experience at Barry’s Irish Pub in Cork City! The fish & chips were absolutely outstanding—crispy, fresh, and full of flavor. Easily one of the best I’ve had in Ireland. The tiramisu was the perfect way to finish the meal—rich, creamy, and simply delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming specially Lisa our server and the atmosphere was exactly what you’d hope for in a traditional Irish pub. If you’re in Cork, don’t miss this place. We were there on a Tuesday evening. We were seated and we did get our order in and our food came quickly enough. After that we were forgotten and ignored. The restaurant was only about 1/3 full and I saw plenty of wait staff there chatting, but we waited 15 minutes for the soda we asked for when our food came and only got it after we flagged down someone and reminded them. This would have been a minor thing, but after bringing the soda she literally ran off before anyone could order the other drinks we wanted and we were waiting for a chance. We tried to get someone's attention for about 20 more minutes and finally gave up and one of us went to the bar and ordered drinks there. To be fair, the round from the bar came quickly and the seemed to remember us after that as they did bring a desserts menu. The food was great, but we all felt a little unwelcome and ignored in general. It was a let down for my partner's birthday (which I did mention to the staff) because I had heard Barry's was great, but our party was disappointed.

Food is great - Website and booking system not so great. Poor user experience it reserves a table outside automatically and it’s like an opt in option for inside which can be easily missed by clicking next. Luckily the staff copped it in the Irish weather and moved us inside
