Black Pig Winebar in Kinsale

This review is a couple of months late, with my apologies. We enjoyed a spectacular meal in November 2024 and I had wanted to say thank you so much. The pumpkin & parmesan croquettes were life-changing... the gnocchi sublime. The thing that made it perfect though was the service which was warm, enthusiastic and professional. Our server was unflappable even when the table next to us set their napkin on fire, and seemed completely uninterested in putting it out. We got an awful fit of the giggles but she was serenity itself as she saved the day. I would come back to Kinsale just to visit The Black Pig. The food was truly the best meal I've had in 10 years, maybe more - every dish perfection. The prices are a steal compared to the highway robbery that's taken over Dublin with largely boring, poorly executed food.

Super nice food, wine, ambiance and service. Really happy to have found this hidden place. We will be back soon!

Arrived right at opening to try our luck at a walk in spot at the bar and they had a last minute reservation cancel so we snagged a table! Service was so kind and helpful. The food was divine! Favorite meal of our trip to Ireland! Highly recommend!

We got so lucky to find Black Pig in Kinsale. We arrived in town after a long drive in the off-season and didn’t have reservations for dinner. We “found” Black Pig and luckily they had 2 seats at the bar. This is an exceptional dining experience. Its warm embrace comes from the ambiance of the intimate rooms and the welcoming staff. Veal carpaccio was a special of the night; it melted in our mouths. Monkfish bites and liver pate were to die for!!! It has a local, neighborhood vibe…many patrons knew each other which adds to the hospitality of the place. We’ll be back. ☘️

This was one of your favorite discoveries in Kinsale. All Irish sourced, organic and sustainable, which is apparent when tasting the dishes. The flavor is off the charts! Could not recommend this place more! Highly recommend reservations. However, if you are a group of 1 or 2 and fortunate to get there 15 minutes before they open like we were, you may be able to snag one of the highly coveted walk-in seats at the bar.

A wonderful dinner. Food, wine and service were all absolutely first class. A small plate menu enabled us to sample lots of different types of food. The best part was that all of our dishes were very different from each other but the quality was maintained throughout. As far as the wine list goes…just wonderful!

Friendly staff, fun and eclectic wine list that was pretty reasonably priced. Staff was excellent, Nikki was our server and we just enjoyed her wit. Food was outstanding, I think we sampled most of what was on the menu. We enjoyed everything that was brought to us. We arrived a bit early and they were very accomodating. One of the better meals we’ve had in our journey to Ireland.
