Black Pig Winebar in Kinsale

Anniversary date night. Couldn't have been a better spot. The service was out of this world. Loved everything I tasted, especially the wine and dessert wine.

Really fantastic evening at the Black Pig - we booked a table outside in the covered courtyard at the back and it was warm under the heaters and cosy/atmospheric. We would even say better ambience than inside! Lovely staff who took us through the menu and were knowledgeable about all the dishes. We loved all the food which is locally sourced and really shows off what Ireland has to offer!

A triumph! Great atmosphere. Delicious food. Wonderful service. My husband, daughter and I shared the acorn fed iberico ham - melts in the mouth (needs to be pre-ordered), the asparagus and hollandaise sauce, the pakora, the pear and cashel blue cheese, the North Atlantic prawns, the mushrooms on toast and the cheese plate. The finale was the chocolate mousse which was divine. A great evening and fabulous dinner. Thank you to our waitress Elizabeth. We made a reservation here before leaving the states, based on reviews- GOOD DECISION! The place is very small & adorable! Our servers were excellent- we had 4 tapas style items - an Indian dish, mushroom dish, smoked mackerel pâté & some prawns as well as a nice bottle of wine. Very reasonable (under €100 including a bottle of wine!) food was EXCELLENT & we were STUFFED - Lots of gluten free and vegetarian options & SUPER accommodating! Very glad we chose this place!

We booked a table for late in the evening but wandered in alot earlier due to a need for sustenance! Warmly welcomed and seated at the bar as our table was not yet available and picked a epic red wine from the excellent list. The casual atmosphere and staff were great and we devoured the fantastic plates including prawns, pate and crocettes. This was the highlight of our time in Kinsale. We will be back.

Just fabulous, fresh locally sourced food, fresh flavours and absolutely delicious food. The success of this restaurant is down to Siobhan and Gavin, who care about their customers and are passionate about their food. Wishing you continued success for your restaurant Rosemary/Eugene Malahide

This review is a couple of months late, with my apologies. We enjoyed a spectacular meal in November 2024 and I had wanted to say thank you so much. The pumpkin & parmesan croquettes were life-changing... the gnocchi sublime. The thing that made it perfect though was the service which was warm, enthusiastic and professional. Our server was unflappable even when the table next to us set their napkin on fire, and seemed completely uninterested in putting it out. We got an awful fit of the giggles but she was serenity itself as she saved the day. I would come back to Kinsale just to visit The Black Pig. The food was truly the best meal I've had in 10 years, maybe more - every dish perfection. The prices are a steal compared to the highway robbery that's taken over Dublin with largely boring, poorly executed food.

Well isn’t this quite the find! So lovely we went back the 2nd night … Staff … adorable,helpful, friendly, warm, kind ✅ Food …. Fantastic … not your traditional sit down eat restaurant experience but much more laid back with the feeling of sharing boards/ plates but you don’t have to share if that’s not your thing! ✅ Wine … my husband’s idea of heaven … extensive wine lists … glasses available for all …. interested staff to chat with …. Suits me extremely well too … a glass or two of bubbly and a yummy pudding wine … all in all suits us both. ✅ Do book early … it’s extremely busy but they do have walk ins at the bar but you’ll need to go early … we were delighted. Thank you
