I went here earlier on today and I was very much impressed by the whole experience. The service itself was warm, friendly and genuine. It wasn't terribly busy at the time so it was very easy to relax there. Most importantly, the food was amazing. There is a certain sense of authenticity with the menu. There aren't a million options on the menu itself which is a good sign that they prepare their menu well. I had a lamb shank biryani that was so good that I can no longer have lamb anywhere else now because it could never compare. It had the perfect flavour and texture and just fell right off the bone. The food was very filling also. We only ordered mains and we just barely manged to finish our meals, which is no small feat when it comes to us. 10/10, would reccomend.

I recently visited this heritage Indian restaurant who has been in business for last 28yrs in cork city. They’re very famous amongst Irish people and I get it why. Firstly, this is the only place I have been to where they served papadom with pickled onions, tamarind chutney and mint chutney. And the old instrumental playlist just brought out the nostalgia of the 90s Indian restaurant scene. Going down the memory lane, we tried their samosa chat which was having prominent flavours of herbs and spices. Summer is here so mango lassi had to go with it. Lot of places make the lassi using mango pulp but this place must be using raw mango because I could feel the roots of the mango in the lassi. Which is so authentic. In mains, we ordered 3 dishes - butter chicken - which was sweet, tangy, creamy and spicy all at the same time. Prawns curry - curry seasoned in fresh coconut with coastal spices and garam masala and coriander. Outstanding spice blend with some regional variations. Kadhi - this was a surprise to me as I never had kadhi in Ireland and this was such a great dish to have. Truly reminded me of my friend’s tiffin back in school. With so many new Indian restaurants out in the block the old ones might still hold the power with great food and perfect balance of spice and flavours. Amazing experience.

We went on a Monday night so it was very quiet and peaceful. Every dish was delicious. Samosas, lamb madrasi, chicken chili masala, and keema naan. The keema naan was especially good with some finely chopped bell peppers and possibly chives mixed into the batter. Service was excellent.
