Chicken Hut in Limerick

I listened to the Chicken Hut Blindboy podcast on the way to Ireland, as recommended by my Irish boyfriend. My mouth was watering on the plane and I simply couldn’t wait to go to Chicken Hut. You walk inside and it’s like a time capsule. The place is overwhelmingly run down but if you were born in the 90s, it gives you that warm nostalgic feeling that maccies would provide you as a child. Boyfriend and I went for the gravy chip and 4 pieces of chicken. Presentation wasn’t incredible but hear me out, it’s all part of the experience. The gravy, it’s seriously proper stuff. It’s as thick as mashed potatoes, peppery and rich. The chicken, juicy, herbaceous, spicy, unique. I can’t wait to come back. The forks in the bag, you ghoul! I’ve saved the carrier bag to stick on my bedroom wall to savour this experience.

A culinary masterpiece. Chicken so tender it melts in your mouth. Gravy so rich and complex it's an exploration of flavour. Chips so crispy it's a dream come true. Chicken hut should be studied by the culinary students who have aspirations to make something truly wonderful. Any 3 star michellin resturant would love to be in the position of Chicken hut with food so good it transcends boundaries. 5 stars is an understatement. This is resturant is truly a gift from God.

Allegedly, they have the original KFC seasoning recipe....but I don't know, but it's really tasty. Go in there after a boat-load of pints. You won't be disappointed.

Food is awesome, staff is very friendly. You can eat food sitting outside at the benches, there is no sitting space (You don't need sitting space anyways). Highly recommended.
