Starting with the positives: the service was fantastic. The waiters were very friendly and attentive, and the tiramisu is genuinely one of the best I’ve had in Cork.
And honestly, that’s about as far as the positives go for me. The food itself is perfectly fine — I’d describe it as average. There are definitely better Italian restaurants in Cork, but there’s nothing particularly wrong with the food either.
What really put me off, and ultimately means we won’t be coming back, is the restaurant itself. It is unbelievably noisy. I assume this is partly because they have squeezed an enormous number of tables into a very small space, with barely any room between them. I have no idea what the maximum capacity of that little room is, but when you’re sitting beside the counter, you can practically hear conversations from people sitting by the windows.
Of course, it becomes a vicious cycle: because the background noise is already so loud, everyone has to speak louder and louder just to hear the person sitting opposite them, which makes the whole place even noisier.
I actually left with a mild headache from the noise. Because of this, the atmosphere was completely lost for me. It’s difficult to relax and enjoy your meal when you feel like you have to shout across the table.
Overall, the service and tiramisu were excellent, and the food was perfectly acceptable, but the noise level completely ruined the experience for us. Unfortunately, it’s not somewhere we would return to.

Wow!!
What a find Da Mirco Restaurant was!
We were visiting Cork for a few days to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary and wanted somewhere to eat on our first evening, after a little research Da Mirco was the stand out choice and having now experienced personally, can categorically say that all the great reviews are totally justified!
We had an absolutely wonderful evening, fabulous atmosphere in the restaurant, very busy but due to it's compact size still felt very homely and welcoming.
The menu had a varied choice which took us some time to choose because everything sounded delicious........and it was!
We shared a starter of Monkfish tails which were cooked to perfection and was one of those plates that you don't want to end!
Followed this with two superb main courses, I went for pork loin, my wife had seafood pasta, both absolutely delicious!
Finished the meal with a perfect Tiramisu.
Coupling this meal with a nice choice of wine and being served by lovely friendly staff, made this whole evening one wich will remain fondly in our memory for a very long time.
Thanks!
PS.......If Hannah, our terrific server gets to see this review, please tell her we went for the infinity tattoos........she'll know what we mean, ha ha! :-)

For a very long time, all my Italian colleagues had been recommending this restaurant, and we finally made it there with my husband. And honestly - mamma mia, now I understand why. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We started with the Tagliere da Mirco, Pomodoro Cunzato e Polenta Fritta - a great selection of Italian cured meats and cheeses, really tasty seasoned tomatoes and crispy fried polenta. Simple, full of flavour and very well done. For the mains, my husband had the Orata all’Acquapazza - beautifully cooked sea bream in a light, flavourful tomato and olive sauce. Fresh, delicate and delicious. My dish - the Mezze Maniche ai Frutti di Mare was equally good - perfectly cooked pasta with plenty of seafood and a rich, savoury sauce with a proper taste of the sea. And the Tiramisù was a perfect way to finish - creamy, coffee-forward and not too sweet. Now I know why my Italian colleagues have been telling me about this place for so long. Definitely worth the wait and absolutely worth coming back to.

I went with two friends to eat at Da Mirco during one of the restaurant’s special Sunday openings for the Cork Fork Festival 2025. We chose the special menu with a cocktail created for the occasion.
What can I say… absolutely speechless.
Having a restaurant of this calibre in the heart of Cork truly elevates the city’s dining scene. Congratulations to the staff and to the owner, Mirco.

My friend Luca Ragno, known to all as the emperor of Vallagarina, ate here and said everything was delicious.
He also gave many compliments on the service and management of the restaurant.
He can't wait to return.

Atmospheric, in the city center. Delicious food, we had the dish of the day, gnocchi, very tasty and tender, pork medallions, tender and juicy, they are accompanied by very tasty potatoes, the bread is generally space, the prices are moderate, for two for a main course and a drink €65
I liked it, we will come again)))

My partner and I had the five-course tasting menu and it was absolutely sublime from start to finish. Every course was beautifully presented and packed with flavour. The standout for me was the seafood pasta – it was simply outstanding, and every bite was delicious.
The entire menu was exceptional, with each course just as impressive as the last, and the dessert was the perfect finish to a fantastic meal.
The service was equally excellent. Our waitress was warm, friendly and attentive, and the pacing of the meal was perfect. There was no waiting between courses – everything flowed seamlessly, making the whole experience feel relaxed and effortless.
We both thoroughly enjoyed our evening and wouldn't hesitate to return. A truly memorable dining experience.

Early dinner on a Friday night - was recommended to us and we weren’t disappointed
We shared the charcuterie board which was enough for 1 person not 2 but the quality was excellent!
For the main we both had the cannelloni with a white ragu - extremely rich and delicious but sadly we didn’t have room for dessert as the main was enough
Wine - the montepulciano was great!
Will return
