Visited today and relieved a warm and friendly welcome. Great chowder ! Authentic Irish Pub with lovely atmosphere Do visit !

After a full day hike in Connemara, a perfect relaxing opportunity to stay here... great atmosphere, great beer and most importantly great music. It was the atmosphere here that inspired me to buy a banjo immediately after returning to the Czech Republic 🙂

Back in Clifden after 4yrs and went straight the Griffin lovely staff food just as good as the last time we were there just a lovely relaxed atmosphere 😀

We have been in Ireland for over a week and Griffin’s Bar was the best night we’ve had yet. We stopped on the way back from dinner and listened to and sang along with, great music. We met friendly people and almost stayed until closing, it was so much fun.

Beer, Gaelic football, and later live music. What more could you want?

We happened upon Griffin's Bar as we began to walk downtown Clifden. We had looked across the street but there were two fellows outside and my friend ask, "How's the food?" "EXCELLENT, if you have money!" was the reply.it made us laugh so we went in. The special soup of the day was butternut squash with bacon. We each ordered that and decided to split the goat cheese salad. The soup arrived with excellent brown bread and the first bite told us we'd picked a winner. The soup had just the right consistency, smokiness and hints of pepper. We ate it slowly as you did not want it to end. Just when you thought it couldn't get better, the salad arrived. A lovely round of soft goat cheese with delicate greens, tomatoes, small peppers and the perfect amount of balsamic glaze. In addition, there were small servings of coleslaw and potato salad. The flavors were the perfect compliment to each other. The staff were attentive, informative and great fun. We have had a lot of good food in the last eight days, but this is the winner so far.
