JJ O'Malleys in Westport

One of our favorite meals in Ireland! Staff was super friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious! We sat upstairs so it was more dimly lit and private but the downstairs was more of your typical pub atmosphere.

Great food and service. I booked a reservation for 3 and then needed to increase to 5 as we met up with some friends. The hostess was very helpful and was able to squeeze us in with an hour notice as to the requested increase in our group. Thanks again for a great meal.

Lovely pub, but service was terrible. It appeared a manager who was on the phone, totally ignoring me and other customers waiting to be served. We just had one drink and would not consider food, as staff had a poor attitude towards customers. I would not return, there's plenty of other more efficient and friendly pubs to attend.

The mains were really good, the waiters make you feel confortable at your table. Recommend.

Booked dinner upstairs on a busy Saturday night. We were seated immediately and whilst the staff were very busy they were very attentive. Maud looked after us and was exceptional. The food was excellent and service very quick -scallops and black pudding perfectly cooked and the halibut and fajitas mains lovely. Sauce on the mussels main was different with ? cheese but we probably didn’t read the menu correctly- would prefer regular wine herb mix. This was for an adult family of four and I would highly recommend the food and atmosphere. Music was starting as we left downstairs. We will be back.

Great pub live music no waiting at the bar for a drink plenty of staff. Didn't have food.

The service and atmosphere was great, but the food was a bit disappointing, for a starter we had the prawn pill pill which was just okay, and the mussels were too salty, and for main course i ordered the seafood linguine which was also average I expected more variety not just prawns and mussels, my partner got a chicken fajitas which was indeed sizzling , great presentation but the taste of it was off definitely not fajitas spices. Would we go back there?... sure but just for drinks 🍸 🙃

Visited J J O'Malleys on our recent trip to Westport. On our first visit we had lunch and then drinks in the bar - the food was delicious with amazing portion sizes. We enjoyed the meal so much we actually ate here three times during our stay. The atmosphere in the bar is great with lovely staff. Special shout out to Annie who made us all feel very welcome. Definitely recommend here for both meals and drinks. Will be returning on our next visit.
