Excellent food l had the mussels and then the seafood pasta husband had the wings and roast beef.Huge portions Absolutely delicious and very reasonable price Great service too

Kudos to the kitchen for always serving absolutely tasty food, both the Irish favourites and the Asian delights. Plus really warm, speedy service Always looking forward to it when I do travel to Ballina!

Served by Stéphanie, friendly, chatty and warm. Dinner we chose was fish and chips. Arrived promptly, everything delicious. Guaranteed to always depart contented from this venue !

Great place to go and have a great night out with friends

We stayed at the Merry Monk recently and the pub itself and the food were of a good standard. The accommodation is in a separate building which has obviously been someone’s house. The room was ok, but just had a view of the bins, the television was way too high up , there wasn’t any full length hanging facility and no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The worst thing was the shower, it is the sort you get in a gym only lasting 30 seconds before you have to press it again, very frustrating for hair washing. The room was very hot and there wasn’t any full no top sheet on the bed so couldn’t really take the duvet off. The outside door of the building wasn’t locked, so anyone could have come in. In fact my husband found a man asleep on a sofa in the communal area where tea and coffee are available in the middle of the night. There were no bedside lamps for reading.

Quiet when I went in, then it steadily filled up by about 75 %, nice amount for a Thursday evening.
