Merry Monk in Ballina

Very impressed with the food here, our visits involved the chicken wings, seafood tagliatelle, pad Thai and Mexican chicken burger and everything was really really good. Nice generous portions, fair pricing and some fantastic staff members. Friendly and welcoming with good value food. A very nice cold crisp pint too!

Beautiful place and people, Room was lovely and they couldn't do enough. Would fully recommend staying here!

**Review: Two Wonderful Weeks at the "Merry Monk" B&B, Ballina** We had the pleasure of spending two weeks at the "Merry Monk" B&B in Ballina, County Mayo. The stay proved to be extremely pleasant. The B&B is just 40 minutes from Cnock Airport and offers ample free parking. Right next door is The Merry Monk pub, also run by the B&B owners. Our room was very inviting and spotlessly clean. The only minor inconvenience was that the bathroom floor got wet after showering, but this wasn't a major problem. The set water temperature was pleasant, and room service was always reliable, as long as the appropriate sign was on the door. Breakfast was typically Irish and very filling. We particularly enjoyed the varied and delicious food in the pub, which is offered at fair prices. We appreciated the evenings at the pub bar with a good beer and enjoyed the friendly, attentive service. The owner, Joe, regularly inquired politely about our well-being, which we were very pleased to see. The B&B is an excellent base for day trips into the beautiful surroundings of western Ireland. Overall, we would like to thank the team at the "Merry Monk" for the friendly welcome and a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Best wishes to Ireland, Claudia and Andreas

Stopped off here in our motorhome as they allow campers & motorhomes to overnight in the car park if you eat in. Food was very good, excellent quality, fresh & very tasty with friendly staff. Can highly recommend.

Food was good service was good but the place could do with a bit of TLC and a deep clean

We celebrated my husband's 70th birthday with family here in January 2025. We had a wonderful evening from beginning to end. The food was outstanding and all the guests remarked on how good it was. The staff were so friendly , efficient and accommodating, and our every need was catered for. They looked after the decorations which were fab and made for a great atmosphere. Thank you to all the Staff and in particular Gillian who organised all for us.
