The Junction in Ballina

We ordered Bacon, Liver, Onions, Peas, Mash and Gravy. We got Bacon, Liver, Carrots, Swede (Turnip) and, eventually, Mash. Everything was lovely except the overcooked and leathery liver.

*4 stars – almost everything is perfect here!* We had a truly wonderful stay. The service is simply outstanding – very friendly, attentive, and quick without being intrusive. You immediately feel welcome and well taken care of. The food was fantastic: The fish and chips were incredibly delicious, crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, served with fresh fries and a tasty coleslaw. Highly recommended! The coffee was also excellent. I had an Americano, which was really strong and aromatic, exactly how I like it and not watered down like so often elsewhere. But the absolute highlight was dessert: The apple pie with vanilla sauce and vanilla ice cream was incredibly delicious! Warm, moist, not too sweet, and simply divine in combination with the ice cream. The atmosphere is cozy, clean, and inviting. The only slight drawback is that it can get a bit noisy during peak hours. Otherwise, the value for money is excellent. We will definitely be back!

Let's talk about the turkey and ham lunch. I never know turkey can taste so juicy and soft. The turkey and ham are sliced thick, so we get a good bite in every mouth! Gravy is rich. I would say the whole dish has a rustic and traditional taste. Best of all we got 3 scoops of mash potatoes! We got croquettes instead of the usual roast potatoes. Honestly, blissful after a full meal here. Definitely living up to its name as a family restaurant. We also had the tuna melt, felt like they put a whole can of tuna for the sandwich. Bit more than 16euros for the turkey and ham, definitely bang for the buck.

Absolutely loved The Junction. The apple pie with warm custard and ice cream was proper comfort food — homemade, generous and absolutely delicious. Exactly the kind of dessert you hope for when you order apple pie. Great food, warm and fast service and a lovely atmosphere. One of those places that just does the simple things really, really well. Five stars across the board and well deserved!

Good food would recommend will definitely back again

Ordered large caesur salad with chips it was a little dry as in could have done with more sauce. Chicken paining was good.

Vegan stir fry was on point! Just the right amount of spice. Curry was excellent. My son’s fish and chips were good. Reasonably priced. Thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. (Bring a sweater, the fan is cool!)
