In the centyof town a traditional cafe which is very popular. Had a short wait for a table of 4 but no more than 5 minutes. Staff are friendly and the service was quick. Ideal for a quick bite to eat. Prices are very reasonable. Worth a visit.

Eat here fairly often and have done for years now. Always pleasant and professional staff. Homely feeling. Reasonabley priced and delicious food. Won't go home hungry.

Had a mini breakfast passing through recently. Was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the meal. It really was top notch. Service was excellent. Would recommend for breakfast.

Merry Monk

02/07/2026: Recently had a mediocre carvery lunch here. Service was ok but then the place wasn't busy. On the plus side there's plenty of free parking & it's accessible.
02/07/2026: Food is absolutely amazing. Great staff and friendly atmosphere. Im delighted to be a regular at The Merry Monk because you always get great food.
