I visited this restaurant today with my wife, and we had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Everything was fresh and well prepared. We really enjoyed our meal and felt well taken care of. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back

My toddler is very fussy but adores the spaghetti bolognese here. And the vegetable pasta bake is to die for! Affordable, no-fuss homemade food (unlike so many where the food is brought in half prepared already). There are very few family run hotels with old-style bars left but this fits the bill. It’s a heritage experience even being in here having a drink.

The Chunky Chip

20/08/2026: Top notch fish and chips, fresh fish, crispy batter and the chips were excellent. My only gripe - no mushy peas on the menu! But that doesn’t detract, an excellent experience.
04/08/2026: Got the fish and chips, and it was fast for sure, but the fish wasnt very nice, very mushy and slimy. The chips were okay, quite soggy. And the served curry was was inedible. And all that for 18.5? For a single person, far FAR too expensive, especially for the quality (or lack therof) you get

02/06/2026: Lovely shop and lovely people. Coffee is fab and really good value
07/04/2026: I've always had great fondness for this shop and I hope the future is bright for it. Having said that, every time I go in lately there's been less and less on sale. No soup of the day, no wines to browse, none of a particular high-end frozen pizza that I became a fan of - and today evidently no ice-cream for sale at all! So I report with sadness that I often come away empty-handed of late.
