Red Store in Youghal

So pleased with this gem on Main Street on the Waterford side of Youghal. Just before Christmas after peak lunch hour, we went for a taste of what Red Store had to offer. We were not disappointed. Two of our party had the pork (one of the specials), one Thai chicken curry and one had the 6oz steak. Food came out piping, and was just poetry on a plate. Desserts of jelly and ice cream, warm apple pie and strawberry cheesecake followed. Pork was succulent but where was the apple sauce (small over sight) and the well done steak was a ‘good tender enjoyable chew’ but missed the onions. Thai chicken curry had a tickle of spice and just right fit portion of rice. The hot Apple pie with ice cream had a perfect measured level of sweetness and softness ( no tough crust). Strawberry cheesecake was not served as a slice but in a wine goblet with dust crumbled biscuit for base and a very strawberry moussy top that was peaked with faux cream. Service was friendly and there was a lovely casual atmosphere to the place with conversation at normal decibel level being feasible. At time of visit / local artist Pauline Neville’s works were on display and her nearby art gallery is very much worth a visit. Great showing!!

Just came home from the Red Store after having the best roast beef dinner i have had in a long while. Beef was excrllent and loads of it, mash, roastt potatoes, carrots, green beans and gravy, cant fault anything. Great red wine, such a relaxing atmosphere, staff so friendly, and prices are so very reasonable. Had table booked from previous day which was a plus as it was really busy.

Driving through town on our way from Kilkenny to Cork. We stopped at this charming little town. The restaurant is nicely decorated and warm. It was pretty busy, but we were sat immediately. We wanted something light for lunch. I ordered the soup of the day- potato and leek soup. It came with some delicious soda bread. The soup hit the spot and warmed me up on the cold, windy day. My husband ordered the curry chicken. He got half rice and half chips. It was tasty and really filling. We didn’t have any appetizers, drinks, or dessert, so our bill was only €25. The wait staff are nice and friendly. We would definitely return again.

We eat here regularly. Staff are amazing and they are very attentive, friendly and personable. They know their customers and put thought and effort in. A great local business, consistent and quality food. Also staff are great to give local knowledge. There is also a great function space and outdoor dining area! And a great pint

Fantastic spot in youghal, I have been coming here for years, bringing friends from Europe, friends from the city and now I am bringing my young family..... It's a fabulous place, well run with attentive staff and amazing food. You can't go wrong.

We attended a christening here yesterday. The place is well laid out and spacious. The staff are friendly and the food was great. Overall a great space for a small function.

A good wholesome breakfast at a reasonable price served by polite and cheerful staff. What more do we need.
