The Fota Restaurant in Cork

Beautiful 5 star hotel outside of Cork City. 10 minutes drive to Cobh . We went here for a birthday celebration and it was fabulous and very relaxing. Definitely worth a visit. Also the spa was incredible

After a busing Christmas we stayed in fota for 2 nights. The resort is in a great location, service was top class and the food could not be faulted. From the moment we stepped in we were made feel welcome. The door man Michael I think it was really made our trip. So welcoming every time and very helpful and informative. We stayed in a double room. Very spacious. The bathroom is spotless and the cleaners did a stellar job. We enjoyed our stay so much we extended for a day. The price quoted at reception was quite a bit more expensive than booking on hotels.com or bookings.com. We said this to them and they matched the price instantly. Very happy with all interactions.

It’s the little things that count and In many of these Fota are failing. One of our party ordered a coffee and asked for a biscuit to accompany it but was told you can’t have a biscuit until after 4- how stupid is that! At dinner steaks were only offered ho share for 2 people- crazy! In general the food was fine but not fantastic and certainly not great value for money. If you charge top prices you need to deliver top class food! Three times during our one night stay the room key failed to open the door which required another trip to reception for a new key. For a 5 star hotel this is simply not acceptable Fota resort needs to up its game and certainly improve its F/ B offering so I’m afraid it’s only 3 stars from me

We did a breakfast and dinner package and it couldn't have been nicer. Delightful food, room and all the staff were lovely during our stay.

Very nice hotel and great location.

We went to the golf club house for some lunch as we really like this area as opposed to the hotel. It's calmer but next to the 18th hole and the artificial lake is really nice.

Unfortunately, there was a family staying near our room who allowed their small child to run up and down the halls our entire stay. During our breakfast, that same family allowed that child to run around the dining area unsupervised. Our room was very noisy - we could hear conversations outside as if they were in our room and banging and thumps were heard starting as early as 730am. The bath didn’t have hot water as well. Our second night there was a father allowing his two boys to run around and scream around 845pm outside our window which was awesome. For an establishment that is supposed to be the best in Cork, we were left feeling underwhelmed.
